I am a textile artist and tutor. I live and work in East Sussex, half-way between the heathland and gorse of the Ashdown Forest and the wind-swept hills of the South Downs with their views to the sea. I like to use my sewing machine to create my work, but I also enjoy making felt by hand. I love challenging myself to create 3D structures and incorporate unusual materials. I am thrifty with my resources and often use recycled fabrics, papers and salvaged beads in my work. I teach machine embroidery classes.

If you would like me to come to your group and teach a workshop. These are my current workshops, but I am happy to discuss your requirements. This is a short workshop, which could fit into a morning or afternoon, or be stretched to create a more leisurely whole-day workshop. See some examples from a workshop here. Bring your sewing machine and learn how to stitch a richly embroidered book cover using free-motion machine embroidery techniques. We will learn how to layer up all those precious scraps of fabric and yarns to create a unique, vibrant cover to fit a book of your choice. You may be able to create two book covers if time allows. We will also learn how to stitch a cord to fasten your book.
