My journey through the happy and quaint land of Bhutan. The currency of Bhutan is Ngultrum (Nu). It’s pegged equally with the Rupee. The Indian Rupee is accepted everywhere in Bhutan. INR 500 and 1000 notes used to be illegal in Bhutan. But while we were there, we read a newspaper notification that both these would become legally acceptable beginning May 1. The car number plates are marked as BP (Bhutan Private), RBP (Royal Bhutan Police), and RBG (Royal Bhutan Government). Ema datshi is the national dish.
