Friday, March 4, 2011. Our Last Day in Jerusalem. Yesterday was our last day/night in Jerusalem for the 2011 trip. Today we head back to Netanya for a few days of local color with the Ruben's, beginning with our final shabbat meal tomorrow night. So a final museum and a final leisurely stroll through the old city. In the afternoon we walked the Armenian and Christian quarters of the old city. Friday, January 28, 2011. Egypt had been considered a fairly stable and safe country to tour for over 40 years. Of course the month we plan to go it is breaking out in protests and possibly revolution! We are not scheduled to travel to Egypt until February 23 so we have a bit of time to see how things play out in the next few weeks and that is what we'll do. Sunday, March 6, 2011. Rest, Life, and Chocolate. We begin preparation for going home. winding down. Instead of sight seeing, we sleep until noon and walk around town for an hour. and then take a nap. Our apartment is in a mushav. In the bible. We've learned that the land is really very fertile, it just needs water. When dry, it looks like a rocky desert. With adequate water, it turns lushly green. We can envision the entire country as paradise. just add water. Solar powered hot water. 2011 Israel Day 33.
