Not too far from this typical Romanesque church a very kitch. In the Sulmona area I've found a few special places. The trattoria under (literally) Porta San Antonio in Sulmona - really relaxed and friendly and fab food. One tip for the winter is to make sure that you drain the pipes if you are not going to be there during the cold period. otherwise they could freeze and break by the time you come back for the summer.
