The Itinerant Warbler: Squash Blossoms

http://itinerantwarbler.blogspot.com/2010/07/squash-blossoms.html

Saturday, July 17, 2010. At the farmer's market this morning Native Hill Farm. Had squash blossoms for sale! I've never eaten or cooked with them, but I'm looking forward to giving it a try. I'm going to try stuffing the closed blossoms with a feta filling, then battering and lightly frying them as part of a celebratory dinner for Craig, who's home after 2 weeks in the field! Update: They were delicious- tasted a lot like okra! August 4, 2010 at 12:26 AM. I am you newest and most curious follower.

The Itinerant Warbler: Grasslands II

http://itinerantwarbler.blogspot.com/2010/06/grasslands-ii.html

Tuesday, June 1, 2010. Craig came to visit me in the grasslands since he got the long weekend off work. It was so nice to have some company! We got to explore a little of Carrizo Canyon, close to the Colorado/New Mexico border and spent a little time in the town of Trinidad. A reminder why white legs in shorts with hiking boots is never a good idea. What are the plum looking things? June 3, 2010 at 8:29 AM. June 5, 2010 at 9:56 PM. Safari Anika. Good times :). The Itinerant Warbler: East to West to East Again

http://itinerantwarbler.blogspot.com/2010/06/east-to-west-to-east-again.html

Tuesday, June 15, 2010. East to West to East Again. Claret Cup Hedgehog Cactus. I've been pretty much from one end of the state to the other in the last 10 days. Surveys are going well, getting to see a few different birds on almost every survey, which is nice. The highway follows an old channel of the Colorado River and it's like driving through a mini Grand Canyon, sheer cliff walls on both sides. Amazing! On a less appetizing note, yesterday was day 5 without a shower. That coupled with intense sw...

itinerant trent | on a pilgrimage called life

On a pilgrimage called life. Now, however, medical school as proved more difficult, as one might imagine. I have to study much more just to get worse grades. All the studying exhausted me. Hours and hours spent with my study group seemed too often unproductive, though studying in a group certainly has kept me in line, forcing me to stay more focused on the material. May the new medical students learn this sooner rather than later. This is not the prettiest sight I have seen. Nevertheless, we certainly ha...
