The Lilly Pad: And The Winner Is
http://thelillypad1214.blogspot.com/2012/01/and-winner-is.html
Welcome to The Lilly Pad! I post about random house things like decorating projects, crafts, and stuff. Also, I'll try to let you know where to find things that I write about at different price points. I very obviously have no training (as if I needed to mention that) and I take really crummy pictures, but I'm always on the hunt for deals and good stuff to put in my house. View my complete profile. Friday, January 27, 2012. And The Winner Is. I will choose a winner Saturday at 5 so I can make it on Sunday.

Our Tales of Two Cities: February 2014
http://ourtalesoftwocities.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 19, 2014. The entire reason that we went to Chiang Mai was for the elephants. A friend of mine recommended the Patara Elephant Farm. 8211; a Thai-owned elephant farm that focuses on elephant conservation. Once I researched the place, I knew that we would be changing our whole trip to make it up there. Not only does Patara match you with an elephant for the day - they also take pictures and videos all day long for you! Here is our day spent at my dream job. It actually didn't smell bad!

Our Tales of Two Cities: October 2014
http://ourtalesoftwocities.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 31, 2014. It’s the season of everything pumpkin! You know what that means, time to break out the paint and glitter. Here are some recent pumpkin crafts that happened over here (Pinterest-inspired). I applied two coats of flat white spray-paint to these guys. After letting them dry overnight, I stenciled on the letters. Next, I brushed on regular Elmer’s glue and let the glitter fall. I do these pumpkins every year because I love how they look and it is super easy. Enjoying the Small Things.

Thursday, December 12, 2013. Stanley Market, The Peak, and more. Our last day together in Hong Kong turned out to be a surprise. http://ourtalesoftwocities.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 7, 2013. We love fall and Halloween, and everything that comes with it. As you know from following this blog, we always get pumpkins, dress up, and generally just love the month of October. This year was no different! We went pumpkin picking a little earlier this year and the weather was hot! I was dying of heat by the time we got done. The heat aside, we had a great time! What the heck is this thing? The kids: Sophie, Lawson, and Waverly. Ahhh…the perfect pumpkin! Nick and I love to d...

Our Tales of Two Cities: Discovering Hiroshima.
http://ourtalesoftwocities.blogspot.com/2014/12/discovering-hiroshima.html
Monday, December 15, 2014. Hiroshima is known for okonomiyaki. It is kind of a pancake-like meal with cabbage and noodles. You can also include squid, oysters, etc. It is topped with a delicious sauce. I have no idea what it is, but it is so good. A-Bomb Dome, also known as the Hiroshima Peace Memorial. This is what remains of the former Prefectural Industrial Promotion Hall. It is one of the only buildings that was still standing after the bomb. It remains almost exactly as it stood that day. I have see...

Our Tales of Two Cities: March 2014
http://ourtalesoftwocities.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 25, 2014. DIY: Dog Bowl Stand. Here is the final result. Here is how we built it. I actually took a bunch of pictures of the process of painting it – but I accidentally erased them from my iPhone before backing it up (ahhh, technology! For the paint job we used Annie Sloan chalk paint and started with a layer of white. We then put on the stencils and applied two layers of red paint. Our kitchen butcher block doubled as a work bench. Making sure all those measurements were correct. We spent...

Mexican restaurant where we ended up ordering girlie drinks that we thought were glasses of wine, tried to go to another Mexican restaurant that didn't have any openings until close to 1 AM, and eventually ended up near our hotel with margaritas and tacos (did I mention it was Cinco de Mayo?
