Author Archives: Lorraine Keeler. I'm a recent graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, currently blogging about knitting and my life starting my first job in Brazil. Come with me as I try to figure it all out. Barreiro and The Grande Hotel. April 1, 2014. Wow I am so behind on this blog! The most famous landmark in Araxá is the giant Grande Hotel. Note her look of terror! When I had been researching Araxá before I came I stumbled upon this really cool place on Google Maps that looked like the set of an...

New book: Japanese Cowichan-style Knits |
https://weheartblank.wordpress.com/2014/02/14/cowichan-knits
Just another WordPress.com site. New book: Japanese Cowichan-style Knits. A few months ago I discovered Granted Clothing. And fell in love with their sweaters, handmade in Vancouver BC! As a non-knitter, I would look at the $400 price tag and cry a little tear, but as a knitter I get to figure out how to make my own! In any case, the idea to design my own Cowichan-style sweater was on the back burner when last week I saw this book. On sale from Fringe Association. Click to email (Opens in new window).

Ravellenic Games Projects |
https://weheartblank.wordpress.com/2014/03/01/ravellenic-games
Just another WordPress.com site. In which they sent a cease-and-desist for calling the games the “Ravelympics”. The controversy is pretty funny, although the amount of power that the USOC has is a little terrifying (they tried to sue Seattle when it built the Olympic sculpture park… which as a view of the Olympic mountains. Wonder if they have tried to rename the mountains yet). This year I kinda-sorta competed although since I moved to Brazil during the Olympics I was a little preoccupied! I chose a ble...

Greek Cats? | New Continent, New Stories
https://annieinspain.wordpress.com/2011/07/15/greek-cats
New Continent, New Stories. One's destination is never a place but a new way of seeing things. -Henry Miller. There were cats EVERYWHERE in the streets of both Santorini and Naxos. I took a picture of the first cat I saw, and then I realized that there were a million cats, and before I knew it there were more pictures of cats than there were of people on vacation (i.e. me and Molly). And what’s really strange is…I don’t really like cats. Greek cat sleeping in a broken chair. Greek cat sleeping on a ledge.

Somewhere Over the Spainbow. Traveling and Studying in Valencia, Spain. It’s About Argen-time! January 19, 2013. And really miss Spain! I see waves of new ISA kids flocking to Valencia and living with my host family and I’m so jealous! I try to recall little details like the name of a street I passed every day on my way to school and I can’t remember it. It’s incredible how quickly tiny details that you once knew so well are now just a distant memory. Goodbye blog, it’s been real. June 7, 2012. Yes, this...

Somewhere Over the Spainbow. Traveling and Studying in Valencia, Spain. It’s About Argen-time! April 26, 2012. Germany was the perfect way to spend the majority of my spring break. I'm the little dot back there. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Address never made public). Follow “So...

Tarragona | Somewhere Over the Spainbow

Somewhere Over the Spainbow. Traveling and Studying in Valencia, Spain. It’s About Argen-time! June 7, 2012. LAME” With this being said, Tarragona was cool, but I think I would’ve liked it more had it been the first round of Roman ruins that I saw. View from the tower. View from the tower. View of the sea from the amphitheater. But in my opinion, the best part about Tarragone was the little quirks it had. When walking down a street, I would not only see lots of cats, but really creative and quirky ar...
