The 11-11 Pages: My adventures in the wild blue yonder.: My review of Man of Steel

The 11-11 Pages: My adventures in the wild blue yonder. Sunday, June 30, 2013. My review of Man of Steel. With the release of Man of Steel, I think it is very clear to my mind about the fundamental differences between DC Comics and Marvel Comics super-heroes. DC Heroes are like modern-day Gods while Marvel’s heroes are like every day joes who fight alongside the ordinary man. Is that good or bad? Man of Steel is also obviously influenced by the first Richard Donner-Superman film, Alex Ross’ portray...

The 11-11 Pages: My adventures in the wild blue yonder. Saturday, December 31, 2011. Nah 2011 was good for me. On New Year's Eve, I went to the grocery to buy a few things. And guess what - my bill added up to PhP 1,111.11! No bull. The year 2011 was a very good one for me and considering my birthday was sort of unique as it was on 11/11/11. The lady next to me in line offered to buy the receipt. I thought about it for a moment then said, "Sure. Is PhP10,000 okay? Links to this post. Links to this post.

The 11-11 Pages: My adventures in the wild blue yonder. Tuesday, January 31, 2012. One of my favorite restaurants: Krung Thai in Marikina. They infuse traditional Thai food to go with a Filipino palette making for a flavorable dish. I like how when I go here there are always a couple of people eating but it's never packed where it becomes irritating. That way the quaint and quiet atmosphere makes the dining experience even more enjoyable. What did I have? Links to this post. Tuesday, January 17, 2012.

The 11-11 Pages: My adventures in the wild blue yonder. Wednesday, September 19, 2012. Reviewing the music of Your Imaginary Friends and Ahmad Tanji. Thanks to Dimples Gallego for the video on YouTube. I have also attached SOME links to some of the writings of my students. Will add more as I receive them. Hope you enjoy them as much as I did when reading them. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). On heavy (literally heavy) rotation in my iTunes this week. A lot of 1970s stuff. The 11-11 Pages: My adventures in the wild blue yonder. Thursday, January 3, 2013. On Newsweek's final print issue or the ballad of the times (no pun intended for Time magazine). The ballad of the times. Newsweek’s final print issue and its digital voyage. Let me paraphrase Cameron Crowe (from his intro of the Pearl Jam Twenty book), who is one of the few people to have a profound effect on my life and career. And that long introduction brings me to the final print issue of Newsweek magazine. As for the ...

The 11-11 Pages: My adventures in the wild blue yonder. Wednesday, November 30, 2011. Cool minds. My Intro to Journ class in Ateneo. Last year was a learning experience for me in teaching. That sounds funny, right? I always said that as much as my students will learn from me so will I learn from them. And I learned a whole lot in managing and teaching a class of students. I can honestly say that I am looking forward to class in order to teach and to learn from my students. Links to this post. Sunset Tues...

The 11-11 Pages: My adventures in the wild blue yonder. Tuesday, December 9, 2014. Remnants: That little shop of treasures. Remnants GM Chito Soliven and owner Remy Cabaltera. Remnants: That little shop of treasures. It’s all just another name but as they say, the song remains the same. Here one man’s junk is another man’s gold.
