These studies repeatedly show that children that engage in block play develop better language skills and critical thinking skills and often, do so earlier than children that do not play with blocks on a regular basis. Blocks are not only fun (for adults, too), they are a tool for the development of fundamental skills that children will use for the rest of their lives.
