Monday, 16 January 2012. Arica (Chile) to La Paz (Bolivia). After the highlight of the Dakar Rally in Chile we head on to La Paz in Bolivia. From sea level over the Andes mountains once again. It was not long before the snow capped mountains of the Andes mountain range appeared. Bolivia has some intrigiung landscapes. Upon entering La Paz we found that South African taxi drivers are not a breed unto their own. Massive Metropol spread out in a valley a nd reaching up into the mountain sides.

We are planning our route from Panama to Columbia (South America). our plan was to go from COlon in Panama to Cartagena in Columbia by ship. Friday, 13 January 2012. Sorry mates.time, wi-fi and a few problems here and there keep us from updating the blog as frequent as needed. Die uitsig, natuurskoon maak egter op vir alles wat kon skeefloop. Die Andes is 'n ongelooflike bergreeks met 'n nuwe verrassing om elke draai. We arrived in Cusco quite late but decided to fix the broken suspension then and there.a quick howzit to the nearest 'enginering works' and we were ready for the next thousand kilo's. Monday, 16 January 2012. Uyuni salt pan, largest on earth. The pictures say it all. On arrival there is foot deep water that needs to be negotiated before reaching the drier area. Legend has it that you can ride for at least 3 minutes blindfolded without any problem. This was proven to be true.
