MyPVR / MyDVR / FreeDVR. A blog on my progress in setting up at PVR / DVR. Thursday, July 06, 2006. A distributed PVR system, now that would be usefull. A mixture of a normal PVR and p2p film downloading, except its with your own boxes, or friends boxes. It solves my problem of recording channels not broadcasted in certain contries, as Im about to move to another country. I could either leave a box here or hook up with a friend, and then sync some select shows if needed. Posted by flurdy @ 21:04.

Just don’t do it. Any code I have written (and even worse if written by others) which I need to update/maintain will look bad after only 6 months. After 2 years it smells of bad architecture design and logic. After 5 years the code base feels like a mess, totally unmaintainable. Why are rewrites a bad idea?

It does more than just build the app, and i find a great assistance. However some times people waste a lot of time on it. But I think the benefits are good. Might also split the project up into sub projects, eg ejb, web service, web app. Yes, using maven has pushed this idea through. Labels: build maven wishlist.
