Present Company Excluded: Buttoned Up
http://spooneracres.blogspot.com/2014/07/buttoned-up.html
This space intentionally left blank. Monday, July 21, 2014. I honestly forgot this blog existed. Once google took down its blog aggregator, I haven’t really checked anyone else’s blogs, so my apologies to all involved. I stopped wanting to share thoughts at full bloom. Anyway, a story:. When I moved into the Big Blue Barn, I never quite set up my closet. Now, the barn doesn’t actually have closets (way to go, architects! 1) Break out of the buttons, Hulk-style. This shirt was a one-and-done. The shirt, t...

Present Company Excluded: March 2012
http://spooneracres.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
This space intentionally left blank. Tuesday, March 13, 2012. I’m not one for resolutions. This is probably because I’m terrible at remembering them and I lack the discipline to keep them even if I do remember they exist. So best to not make them at all. Revelation: I’ve had a BLAST. I mean a BLAST. I can’t believe I ever considered not playing. I can’t wait for the next season. It’s not that I’m particularly good, but that isn’t the point, is it? I don’t know what other fears I’ll face this ...Dear Day ...

Present Company Excluded: Fractures
http://spooneracres.blogspot.com/2013/01/fractures.html
This space intentionally left blank. Wednesday, January 2, 2013. I'm a little worried being this personal on my ten-year old blog. But I need to process and only like five of you read this. As per our usual, I had a conversation with my brother that consisted mostly of us making fun of each other:. Typical conversation. BTW the Samsung S3 is the greatest phone ever. I think he meant "scarring" not "scaring". My little brother is also gay as a $3 bill. My brother has been out of the closet for over a deca...

Present Company Excluded: September 2011
http://spooneracres.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
This space intentionally left blank. Sunday, September 18, 2011. Between the Numbered Boxes. I moved this past weekend, and in the process of packing up 4.5 years of life in my previous space I came across four well-worn books of Sudoku puzzles. Before I got my smartphone, a book of puzzles was perfect for entertainment so I had one on me at virtually every moment. It was just mindless enough to relax while keeping my brain on a quiet humming plane. I keep hope like a flare gun, strapped to my leg.".

Present Company Excluded: May 2012
http://spooneracres.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
This space intentionally left blank. Tuesday, May 22, 2012. Then I get home and I’m simply tired. Most of the time, I like the travel. It’s harder now having a dog (all you moms out there just rolled your eyes, but it really is. The dog is my kid and I unhealthily project all of my hormonal neediness onto her) but I need the feeling of movement, of some little microburst of new beginning. I have another ridiculous month of movement before July brings the summer quiet. I will want the quiet then. The writ...

Present Company Excluded: July 2012

This space intentionally left blank. Monday, July 9, 2012. I miss her voice. I miss it every day. I have this list in my head of all the things I want to talk to her about, as if we haven’t spoken because we’ve just been busy. I know this isn’t true, but in those brief moments when I forget she’s dead, I exuberantly anticipate her thoughts and opinions. I miss the way she’d say my name. I hate having to let go. But I am letting go. I’m resigned to do it. I hate it. Links to this post. Monday, July 2, 2012.

The First Step is the Hardest: December 2008
http://thefirststepisthehardest.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
The First Step is the Hardest. It all started back in high school around 1999 when I thought I knew everything and that I would live forever. With each passing day since then I realize more and more just how little we all really know and just how fragile life is. These ramblings are a loose translation of those lessons. Sunday, December 14, 2008. First off Run at the Rock. Now for the exciting news. I'm going to register for Duathlon Nationals. Hope everyone had an awesome weekend.
