eat-a-ducky: February 2011
http://eataducky.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 22 February 2011. On my plate - rotisserie wagyu steak @ Rockpool. What can I say? Rockpool Bar and Grill Melbourne. Crown Casino and Entertainment Complex. 8 Whiteman St, Southbank. Links to this post. Friday, 11 February 2011. On my plate - sakata coated prawns @ izakaya den. To say Japanese is a difficult language to learn is a bit of an understatement. After this amount of studying, I still don't really understand the subtle nuances. Take some words to describe crunchy foods: paripari. Had I...

the cookiebanana blog.: Izakaya Den - a bite sized review
http://thecookiebananablog.blogspot.com/2010/08/izakaya-den-bite-sized-review.html
A blog chronicling the Melbourne foodie adventures of Miss. Banana and Miss Cookie. Izakaya Den - a bite sized review. Keeping it short and sweet:. 56 each to share 6 dishes and 2 drinks. It seems like it's pricey but you really don't have to pay this much as all. Stop by and try some sake and grab a delicacy or two if it's easier on your pocket - prices range from around $7ish - $20ish, so you can tailor your night to fit your budget easily. The Basement - 114 Russell St. And that's all I'm saying.

The Impeccable Gift: Melbourne..wish you were here
http://theimpeccablegift.blogspot.com/2011/08/melbournewish-you-were-here.html
Tuesday, August 9, 2011. Melbourne.wish you were here. Have just got back after 5 days of various trade fairs which were inspiring, exhausting and all consuming. We don't get much time to play or wander so make every dinner a good one as lunch is usually a soggy canteen sandwich and flavourless coffee ( glamourous indeed! Also got to check out some incredible art as stayed at The Cullen Hotel. First stop was the Izakaya Den. Delicious Japanese in a basement venue. Very cool and Hip. Lots of yummy nibbles.

http://www.iheartmyfood.com/2011/01/melbourne.html
I (heart) my food. A fun thing about working at the opera is that twice a year we swap performance spaces with the (Australian) ballet and head down to Melbourne for a time. Melbourne is a pretty wonderful town and everyone has their favourite haunts. Here are a few of mine that I visited on my most recent stay in December. More than the food, however, the place has a wonderful vibe - fun soundtrack, great long room full of people sitting up at the long bar (comme moi! A great new player in the Melbourne...
