Ding, dong, DADT is dead! Archive for November, 2010. Just kidding. I would never touch that stuff. So, tomorrow’s Thanksgiving. And don’t even get me started on the “Pilgrims” and that whole crock of shit. That’s a whole ‘nother post, if not a whole ‘nother blog. So it’s been a hard three months. It’s crazy when I think of how much has. Since we last saw each other. So much has happened in both our lives; some good and some bad. But we weren’t there for each other. It’s Veterans’ Day. But you shouldn’t ...

Ding, dong, DADT is dead! Archive for January, 2011. Moving To Middle America: Reactions. Whenever I mention at a party or gathering that I’m moving to [a majority Republican state in middle America], I always get the same reactions from the white radicals who generally attend gatherings at my white radical house. “Why? 8221; “God, how awful for you! 8221; “What on earth are you going to do THERE? Mind would voluntarily move to [a majority Republican state in middle America]. For one, you’re acting...

Ding, dong, DADT is dead! Archive for December, 2010. Gorging myself on pie. It’s that slow week (if you’re off) between Christmas and New Year’s, when the leftovers are dwindling and the guests are starting to trickle away and you take lots of naps. I’m a heathen, but I suppose my family must be culturally Christian, because we never saw fit to stop celebrating Christmas. I think Christmas is one of the good things that white people have made up. She’s not sure what she’s going to say at wor...When Obam...

Ding, dong, DADT is dead! The clock is ticking. March 16, 2011. In case the lack of posts didn’t clue you in, I’ve been ridiculously stressed out lately. I’m moving to Militaryville in two weeks, and it’s ridiculous. I’m trying to make sure all my affairs are in order at my job, which is hard because I stopped giving a shit about three months ago. But mainly, I’m excited! I like the stress that goes with moving. I think if I ever stay in one place for too long I’ll die from straight-up boredom&...You are...

Spring is here! | The Confirmed Bachelor
https://theconfirmedbachelor.wordpress.com/2011/03/23/spring-is-here
Ding, dong, DADT is dead! March 23, 2011. I’m feeling good today for three reasons:. 1 I’m done working in an office! It’s great how much easier it is to face the world when you have things like freedom and autonomy. (Of course, I’m also unemployed now.). 2 I have a new computer! 3 It’s spring! You can’t help but feel good when it’s spring. The clock is ticking. It seems we’re moving forward on DADT. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Email (Address never made public).

Ding, dong, DADT is dead! January 26, 2011. My main worry in moving to Militaryville is finding a job. Militaryville is north of Texas, south of Canada, east of Oregon, and west of Wisconsin. That translates to the MIDDLE OF FREAKING NOWHERE, as far as my world-travelling self is concerned. On the one hand I’m a radical who thinks job culture is bullshit. So career-wise, this move is a major step down for me, at least initially. And it’s a bit of a blow to my pride. 8221; “You could be a dental ass...

Ding, dong, DADT is dead! Archive for October, 2010. It gets better — in some ways. Everybody’s making all these videos. Telling queer youth things are gonna get better. I think the project’s been helpful for the whole queer community, not just youth — this is the first time I can remember that so many of us have talked openly to each other about our struggles. Even Obama got in. On the action, though he neglected to say that things only get better if you’re not planning on joining the military. But you’...

Ding, dong, DADT is dead! Successful Negotiations With The Pentagon. September 17, 2010. Today is one of those days where you wake up and can’t believe that yesterday actually happened. I don’t even wanna KNOW what it looked like. Probably like some Krafft-Ebing. Should I tell you about the meeting, or about the epic time I had with the other queer military partners? The meeting. And then the partners and lobbying in another post. Keep an eye out. The hotel we convened at. We met at this hotel in DC, tog...

Ding, dong, DADT is dead! Archive for August, 2010. Don’t Get Me Started On The Survey. Update: Queer partners, we have a date with the Pentagon. On September 16th. I believe that will be the extent of our input on their policies, so don’t miss it. Don’t even get me started on these Pentagon surveys. Straight military spouses on their views about Don’t Ask Don’t Tell? In the instructions, it says: “This is your chance to be heard.”. Who are they to help decide military law? I had no idea spouses were sup...
