Sunday, 11 November 2007. Finished my stripey Adult Surprise Jacket. MY DH took a photo of me in it which I am so. Not posting. The jacket looks lovely on, it is the rest of the photo I had a problem with. He must love me very much to think I looked OK in it! Beige curtains as a background makes me look like a zombie. And I have a bad hair day today. My photography skills aren't much better, the jacket isn't really lop sided either. I will sew on the buttons tonight so I can wear it tomorrow.

I was wanting to start a scarf for a cancer patient and am glad I waited to use the new needles. The yarn is slippery and a bit splitty, but these needles seem to be just what I need. They are soooo lightweight, and are just "sticky" enough to keep the yarn where it belongs without dragging. I tried to find these needles on Google searches, but no luck.

A place to share my knitting. Sunday, November 11, 2007. Short Row Adult Hat. Here is the adult size version of the Short Row Baby hat you see in the post below this one. I used US # 9 straight needles, Bernat Camouflage worsted weight yarn. I cast on 38 stitches. The short rows worked as follows:. 28, 30, 32, 34, 36, 38- repeat for a total of 10 repeats of the pattern. The key to this is to watch your gauge. That way you can tell how many repeats you will need, and what length to cast on.
