Described as “ancient ghost towns scattered amongst limestone hills” the Dead Cities are incredible. Dating back to the 4. Century, these clusters of stone buildings are beautiful and in remarkable condition. And the fantastic spicy bread cooked in a wood-burning stove at the side of the highway.

Monday, January 12, 2009. Music to our ears. Brings not only many new sights but lots of new sounds as well. In addition to the call to prayer, which resonates through the city 5 times daily, there are also many honking horns, meowing cats, beautiful Arabic words, and stunning music. We have attended three concerts since being here and have been extremely impressed each time. The latter was incredible and hearing their voices filled with innocence and strength brought tears to our eyes. Music to our ears.

Wednesday, October 22, 2008. After a wonderful and busy few days in Victoria (thanks everyone for welcoming us home! We are heading off this morning to begin the next phase of our adventures.
