Gender,Power, and Privilege-SS. Monday, January 17, 2011. I defiantly learned a lot from reading the article by Julia Serano and watching the film “Beautiful daughters”. After watching the film I feel that I have more of a grasp on my opinion towards transgender oppression. Men and Women who feel that they weren’t born in the bodies they belong to and are given the chance to fix it, should not be discriminated for wanting harmony in their life. I really liked that you brought up this point that we are all generally similar beings, but still have notable differences. I agree that human beings are all pretty similar is terms of pleasure and respect, however, I think men and women are very different in social, political, and psychological aspects.
