Information about the J/30 Sailboat Rhapsody - Hull #348. Wednesday, May 5, 2010. 2010 Maiden Voyage with New Mainsail. There are some pictures of Warren standing next to the new Hood Vektron main. Below is a picture of the main flaked across the boom. The folds are setup to alternate between the slugs in the mast track. Since we had a breeze that reached 18-20kts apparent while underway, there was an opportunity to "walk up the mast". Overall, this was a very successful maiden voyage. Links to this post.

Information about the J/30 Sailboat Rhapsody - Hull #348. Saturday, December 15, 2012. Below are pictures of the new chainplates and backing plates installed. The tongue extending through the deck was coated with caulk before being inserted through the deck so that a good seal would be formed. Below are all the drive components cleaned after lapping the drive cone and the gears. They are ready for reassembly. Here is the finished transmission with fresh Yanmar Gray paint on the aft end. Mango Madness J30 Sailboat. Restoring a J boat Racer/cruiser in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. Monday, September 8, 2008. I removed the chainplates, swim ladder, from the back of the boat. The transom is thicker than I thought (about 2 inches). The chainplate holes were mostly dry. The fasteners for everything were rusting. I overdrilled every hole and sealed with very thick epoxy. I will redrill and remount the chainplates/backstay this evening. The ladder needs to be cleaned up or replaced. J30 - Rattle and Hum.
