Monday, April 30, 2012. Venice and Stranded in Calalzo. This past weekend I took a trip with Tn, Alma, Jess, and Julee to Venice! We left on Friday and came back Sunday night. Venice was incredibly beautiful. It was really crowded with tourists though, so much so that we almost couldn't move on some streets. The weather was also crazy hot, it was probably 80 degrees on Saturday, and I was dressed for cooler weather, whoops! I've been living in Rome for four and a half months and only just visited the Colosseum today. Whoops! It was a lot smaller on the inside than it looks from the outside, but still awesome. Saturday, March 31, 2012. After being inspired by the Sicilian puppets in Palermo, I decided I needed to make my own, logically! But then I needed characters.and what could be more perfect than a story that took place mostly in the islands around Sicily? With all its ridiculous and awesome creatures, is now my reference for my puppets! Here is Polyphemus, the cyclops who was blinded by Odysseus.
