These Memory Shrines, assembled with great caring and deep intuition, are an expression of the stories my cells have stored, over time and despite layers of new data and recent memories, stuffed into my body. They embrace my distant past, the stories and images of my ancestors, inherited memories of the Holocaust. Mixed media assemblages in bamboo boxes, between 3 X 6 and 6 X 9 inches.

I created 36 Ritual Blessing Cards, each one 2 1/2 X 3 1/2 inches, the size of an Artist Trading Card, for an art exhibit entitled Reinventing Ritual. Each card has a collaged image on one side and a word pasted onto the reverse. My intention was to pick one Blessing Card each morning, and hold this word in my consciousness for the day. Paper on card, 2 1/2 X 3 1/2 inches.

My gathering of collage materials is an on-going process, even a historical one. I generally use bits of found paper, kept layered in various small boxes, drawers and scattered over a work table. I find beauty in these scraps as I move and tear and position them into a balanced composition, evoking a mood, a personal dialogue. Mixed media on paper, between 5 and 7 inches.
