Monday, April 11, 2011. 1 Right after World War II the econonmy slumped from its war time peak and prices rose for consumer goods. There was no military demands to keep the workers in the factories churning out weapons and tools for war. 2 Strikes rose since people were afraid they couldn't buy the goods they were making.
