LIZARD in a LAB COAT: A Slight Return to Kennington Sun
http://lizardmag.blogspot.com/2012/06/slight-return-to-kennington-sun.html
There was an error in this gadget. A Slight Return to Kennington Sun. This happens with blogs, by that I mean it happens with THIS blog. I'm talking about the long gaps. Between posts. It's never deliberate, things just happen that way. I'm not going to go into the reasons for this most recent period of dead-air but it's a combination of injury and biblical weather, suffice to say I ain't been skating much. Since when did I need real reasons to do anything? There are going to e many more conversations in...

LIZARD in a LAB COAT: January 2012
http://lizardmag.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
There was an error in this gadget. Kingpin's Set In Stone - Berlin. Now that there is a lull in the S.E.D.J. activity, until the final post, I thought I'd better post this little beauty. You may have already seen it as it was released by Kingpin Magazine yesterday but I'm determined to do my bit to get it seen by as many skateboarders and non-skaters as humanly possible. Why? Because it's a forward thinking project that showcases what can be done with a little time, effort and , I won't lie to you, money.

LIZARD in a LAB COAT: An Open Letter To Lee Coan
http://lizardmag.blogspot.com/2014/04/an-open-letter-to-lee-coan.html
There was an error in this gadget. An Open Letter To Lee Coan. Today I'm going to write a letter to Lee Coan. The one on the left who isn't James May), the "Journalist" who wrote an article that was featured on the Telegraph's website today entitled "How old is too old to skateboard? Old Man Harrison with a Back tail on the city streets. For a measly £75 or this travesty of an object. For a poultry £1000. But I digress. I heeded her advice, right up until this morning, when I noticed multiple friends pos...

LIZARD in a LAB COAT: Hayes Skatepark And The Birth Of A Travesty
http://lizardmag.blogspot.com/2013/11/hayes-skatepark-and-birth-of-travesty.html
There was an error in this gadget. Hayes Skatepark And The Birth Of A Travesty. Concrete skateparks are now getting built at a fantastic, almost unbelievable rate. If I look back at the skateparks that existed in the south of England in the year I left school, I would barely need the fingers of a second hand. Now they are getting built all over the place. And surely this can only be a good thing. Well, not always. Two words. FUCK ME! I have no idea who built this park, but they need to be outed, blacklis...

LIZARD in a LAB COAT: The Unnerving Peace and Nose-Grab Insanity.
http://lizardmag.blogspot.com/2013/05/the-unnerving-peace-and-nose-grab.html
There was an error in this gadget. The Unnerving Peace and Nose-Grab Insanity. Time has a habit of flying by these days. It's been over a week since Johners and I got soaked to the skin at Stockwell only minutes after arriving for a relaxed skate, the day before the Annual Stockwell Jam. If you're not aware of the place in UK skateboarding history that the INSANE brand holds, you could do worse that go and check out the website. See you out there. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). LIZARD in a LAB COAT: I Put My Back-out Amidst A Photo Black-out.
http://lizardmag.blogspot.com/2012/04/i-put-my-back-out-amidst-photo-black.html
There was an error in this gadget. I Put My Back-out Amidst A Photo Black-out. I'm not a fan of the "text only" blog post. But there is a very good reason for this one. Secrecy, and lots of it. I've talked about the etiquette of secret spots and DIY builds before and I'm not going to go over old ground here but, that's right, BUT it would seem that not all skaters in the UK read this blog, a revelation that rocked me to my core. How do I know this? PS bend zee kneez! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

LIZARD in a LAB COAT: February 2012
http://lizardmag.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
There was an error in this gadget. Chapped Lips and Bad Backs - The Price of Living Your Dreams. This time last year the Fox Spot was already starting to take shape. Now we know it's time is limited thanks to the redevelopment of Burgess Park and the inclusion of an Olympic size BMX track. The site of the Fox Spot is where the final corner before the home straight will be. Fuck the Olympics, build a skate-spot. Kingpin's Set In Stone - Finland, and a bit of extra Alv. The motivations behind this park are...

LIZARD in a LAB COAT: October 2011
http://lizardmag.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
There was an error in this gadget. Earley Skatepark and the Ghosts of Teenage Regret. Had this park existed back then god knows what the locals could have developed into. It's a fact that what you skate and who you skate with will have huge impact on your speed and extent of learning on the board. So I'm super happy for the kid I met on Saturday who lives directly opposite this fun and varied park. My 16 year-old self is insanely jealous of him though. Skaters, Splinters and the Art of Perfectionism.

You've probably noticed that as you go through life you will come across two types of people; those who are doers, and those who don't. James is a doer. Quite a good one too. I'll give you all the details of Jame's book and his other DIY projects when he has a chance to talk to [LIALC] . James? See you out there. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
