4 Ps ratings 2017. Book review: “Being mortal” by Atul Gawande. January 5, 2017. March 2, 2017. I found out about this book after reading a review of it by fellow blogger, Hilary Custance Green. Her enthusiastic post prompted me to reserve a copy from my local library. 8220;Being mortal” by Atul Gawande (2014). Carer to two delightful octogenarian parents. Anyone can take part, and the idea is to commit to writing 50,000 words, roughly the minimum for a novel, by the end of November. Book review: “Secret asset” by Stella Rimington – Lorna's Blog

4 Ps ratings 2017. Book review: “Secret asset” by Stella Rimington. November 20, 2016. March 2, 2017. It was with some interest, therefore, that I picked up one of her novels. With a fictional piece, she would presumably have much freer rein to include the oomph I had been looking for in her autobiography. Unable to get my hands on the first of her series featuring MI5 officer, Liz Carlyle, I settled for the second, “Secret asset” (there are, to date, nine Liz Carlyle novels). As a protagonist, I found L...

NaNo Update – Lorna's Blog
https://lornamcinnes.com/2016/12/01/nano-update
4 Ps ratings 2017. December 1, 2016. December 1, 2016. National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) ended last night, on 30 November. As I wrote at the end of October. I was expecting to find the goal of writing 50,000 words of fiction in one month a tall order. The first week was very encouraging, with my daily word count suggesting I would surpass 50,000 words before the month was out. Then it all went pear-shaped. Looking back over the past month, if I wasn’t writing every day, what was I doing? Well done...

It has been some time since I published a drawing, partly because I have been too busy with other things, and partly because of clients not wishing commissions uploaded to the internet. The latter I am not altogether happy about, but I have to respect their wishes, especially where children are concerned. Luckily it doesn’t happen often. For those who are interested, and is another smooth watercolour paper. Sunshine – Graphite Pencil on Watercolour Paper. Hier und drum zu. 4 thoughts on “ Sunshine. Your ...

Sources of Happiness are Relative | You, Me, And The Universe
https://rachellesamantha9.wordpress.com/2015/07/14/sources-of-happiness-are-relative
You, Me, And The Universe. Travel, nature, reflection. Sources of Happiness are Relative. I’m in a car with a Taiwanese mother and daughter who do not speak English. We’re driving on roads I’ve never driven on, passing by mountains I’ve never seen. I’m eating food that, two weeks ago, I never knew existed. But these roads, these mountains, this food, is all most Taiwanese people know. It’s all they’ve ever seen, and it’s all some them will ever see. What exactly are they lacking, if they are happy? I hav...

Teaching in Taiwan | You, Me, And The Universe
https://rachellesamantha9.wordpress.com/2015/06/18/teaching-in-taiwan
You, Me, And The Universe. Travel, nature, reflection. In one week, I leave for Taipei, Taiwan. I’ll be teaching English to students involved in a program called World Passport. For two months I will live in and around Taipei. I’m excited but also partially frightened by the news I’ve heard regarding the weather in Taiwan. I mean, 3-4 typhoons per summer? Should I just walk myself out now…? June 18, 2015. 30 Comments to “Teaching in Taiwan”. June 18, 2015 at 12:49 am. June 18, 2015 at 12:59 am. Wow, now ...

Loch Rannoch Marathon : Race Report | Is there life after a marathon?

Is there life after a marathon? You’re at the best WordPress.com site ever. Loch Rannoch Marathon : Race Report. If you like your marathons to be scenic then this is the marathon for you. With a loop at either end you basically just run round the loch. If you want your marathon to be flat – then this is not the marathon for you. I heard the route called “undulating” but that is a fairly mild description I would suggest. In fact there is an elevation gain of 631 feet! You’ve had it! Thanks Lorna. I th...

Winter garden – Lorna's Blog
https://lornamcinnes.com/2017/01/07/winter-garden
4 Ps ratings 2017. January 7, 2017. January 7, 2017. This is not the most colourful or vibrant time of year in Scottish gardens, but armed with my camera I went out yesterday afternoon to see what I could find. I was pleasantly surprised by the small scale beauty of little plants thriving in quiet corners, even dead leaves providing interesting shapes and textures.
