A Diary of irregular and diverse fishing trips. Saturday, March 24, 2012. After a horrid morning, I finally made it to the Barbican to see the new Art of Fishing shop there. Its very cool indeed, and I was glad to meet and chat to Matt Newcombe of Plymouth Lure Fishing. Ben Field the Art of Fishing. Owner . Very patient and helpful guys right there. After buying a few bits and some new line. Even though I swore I wouldn't spend anything. Another one for the species list :-). Thursday, March 08, 2012.

This Fishing Life: November 2011
http://thisfishinglife.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
A Diary of irregular and diverse fishing trips. Wednesday, November 09, 2011. The Great Sea Fishing Lure Rationalise. I have lots of Pike lures, but that's OK, as I'm targeting just that one species so need lots of choice, plus I'm not exactly trudging down cliffs to get to them. On the other hand, I have a lot of Bass and sea lures, but DO need to climb down cliffs. So I decided to pare down my collection to the essentials. Here's how I got on. My Bass Lures started out like this. Odds stacked against m...

http://scillylureaddicts.blogspot.com/2013/08/a-round-up-of-july.html
Lure fishing adventures in the Isles of Scilly. Friday, 2 August 2013. A round up of July. At the start of the month former UKSF casting champion and now mad keen lure angler Andy Green (the wellington wrong'un to some) came over to stay with me and to attempt to break his lure caught wrasse pb of 3.5lbs. Well the old boy well and truly smashed it on many occasions! Andy with a lovely 4lb wrasse that hit his Hawg Stickbait. I had several over 4lbs as well with a couple of donkeys that smashed me up!

This Fishing Life: Books
http://thisfishinglife.blogspot.com/p/books.html
A Diary of irregular and diverse fishing trips. How to Fish" - Chris Yates. Publisher: Hamish Hamilton Ltd (28 Sep 2006). I can thoroughly recommend it. Its different to the majority of fishing books, as its not exactly a manual, but a journey with the author on his love of fishing and what we as anglers get out of it. Its a wonderful, pleasant walk along the bank in the true ethos of what angling is about. The Secret Carp - Chris Yates (modern printing). Catch Carp and Tench - John Wilson. Fox guide to ...

This Fishing Life: July 2011
http://thisfishinglife.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
A Diary of irregular and diverse fishing trips. Friday, July 29, 2011. Chased big carp again in our local pond. Heavy gear, standard running ledgers, bigger boilies. Fresh freezer baits too. Cell, Grange, and Black Snail. However, we didn't hit anything like our target, we didn't even get a double. I ended up having x5 carp, x2 under tree on Cell. x2 off island on Grange, and x1 stalking on bread, all about 5lb to 8lb. Oddly, Mike blanked, yet he was sat next to me on similar baits and rigs. The real poi...

Plugging, LRF (Light Rock Fishing) HRF (Hard Rock Fishing). Friday, 20 July 2012. LRF Mission Flounder, Mission succeeded! Well I’ve just got in from a harbour scratching LRF session with my mate Rob, I didn’t manage to take any pictures because he had all the fancy pants equipment, but I’m awaiting some photos of a goliath scorpion fish. Seriously the thing was huge compared to any I’ve caught in the past! I managed a few sessions with mixed results from the same location I lost the first flounder….

Plugging, LRF (Light Rock Fishing) HRF (Hard Rock Fishing). Friday, 27 September 2013. Floundering around Weymouth and West Bay Harbour. Well the past few weeks have been a blessing with North East winds, so many people love the SW winds due to the bass fishing off Chesil, but I am growing fonder and fonder of the North Easterly winds due to the amount of species that creep in under most peoples radars, think about it. what is happening when those waters are calm and clear for days on end? Me and Lolly h...

What an amazing past few weeks, fishing is on fire from local rocks marks, with wrasse and Pollock showing in good numbers and the harbour is full of mini species. Winner of the comp was Simon with this stunning looking Sea Scorpian above. Well done mate, I’m seriously jealous! My answer is no. On a number of occasions now we have come across some stunning fishing conditio...
