The Sutton European Adventure, Part Zwei. Tuesday, June 2, 2015. May 17-June 2: Rome- The Pilgrim's Tour. We hit three more churches in a row- they are all starting to run together. But here at the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore we saw pieces of baby Jesus's manger. Hmmmmm. apparently Joseph and Mary were hoarders. We loved the Byzantine mosaics at Santa Prassede. Then here at San Giovanni in Laterano we saw the high altar, which supposedly holds the heads of both Peter and Paul.

They were all great, but once you have seen a dozen, it feels like you have seen them all. The Sutton European Adventure, Part Zwei. Tuesday, June 2, 2015. May 17-June 2: Rome- Ostia Antica. Ostia Antica, a spectacular archeological site outside of Rome. Two-thousand year old Roman roads, homes, baths, an amphitheater, and temples. One of our best days ever. Jackson especially loved it and was almost in tears that we couldn't come back another day. But when we recommended a future for him in archaeology he said that it looks cool, but is too hot and dusty for him. Check out that lizard!
