Saturday, July 07, 2012. Today, when mummy was doing the tough girl challenge, we did the tough kid challenge! First we had to crawl under the deck. Then we went all the way around the outside of the section, touching the fence all the way and then we went through the driveway forest. After that we ran up the driveway to the letterbox and back. We then ran through the squirting hose and back through the garden again. After that we had to jump up and down on the wet trampoline. Monday, April 30, 2012.

Friday, October 28, 2011. Coconut and Lightning McQueen. A quick race before school! Jack had a fun birthday day. The morning started with presents - the one day of the year when it is useful to have an early riser! Then Lucy and Mum picked up Jack (and Coconut! At lunchtime and we had sushi at the beach. Coconut likes salmon! We spent the afternoon at another playground. And then met Dad for fish n chips. Yum! Fun at Kelly Tarltons. From braids to frizz. Go the All Blacks. Coconut and Lightning McQueen.

Friday, August 27, 2010. Jack has started at the local kindy and loves it. Lucy and I stayed for one session and Lucy's favourite part of the day was morning tea. Kindy has 2 guinea pigs, Honey and Spice, and we looked after them for a weekend. Both kids adored them - they were regularly fed (overfed is probably more accurate! Watered, cuddled and read to. 1 - 16 July - homeward bound. And playing in the snow. Blizzard was a speed machine. Then we headed north to Hamilton and stayed with Connie and Graham.

Monday, October 25, 2010. Jack's first day at Churchill Park school. This was Jack's physical reaction when I asked him whether he was excited about starting school. It was accompanied by a jump and a very loud and long YEEEESSSSSSS! Lucy's early birthday present. Lucy has her own special reading chair. Jack had his birthday party at the Whangaparaoa Steam Railway. We all had a great day - there was a fun play area. But the best parts were the train ride (obviously). And the treasure hunt. Thursday, June 23, 2011. Lucy drew this great picture of Dad - only asking for help for the ears. The circle is the tummy! Three in the bath. Can you hear me? With Nana and Aunty Lisa short of hearing (hee hee) I thought it was time to check out Lucy's hearing. Lucy loved the pink ear plugs. And yes, she can hear fine, she obviously chooses when she doesn't want to! Joke of the Day. Jack's class had a writing session where some of the kids made up jokes. When Jack got home he made up this beauty.

Tuesday, September 20, 2011. We had a fabulous holiday in Fiji. Cool chairs at Auckland airport. Fun on the plane. Room with a view. Sharing" the sofa bed. Fun on the beach. Could'nt believe that people still live in the houses that the guards once lived in, while others live in houses built of the brick that the prisnors where forced to labour over.
