Monday, November 16, 2009. I finally heard from my doctor's office about my surgery. Perhaps it was the call I made today. Keep all fingers and toes crossed that nothing gets in the way of this! Posted by Laura Swenson. Thursday, November 12, 2009. Happy Birthday to Me! I had a wonderful birthday which lasted all of last week. I ate out with Reed's family and enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Appleby's. Then a lovely evening meal with the Bacon's at Lujan's Mexican Restaurant. Posted by Laura Swenson. I saw t...

Saturday, April 10, 2010. What I Did On My Spring Vacation! What a wonderful time Harvey and I had in Florida! I don't know where to begin! We went primarily to watch the shuttle launch. It was amazing! Am I using enough exclamation marks? The launch was scheduled for 6:30'ish in the morning. We met new friends in the parking lot of Harry's condo at 3:15 am. Now, we are RETIRED. We often sleep in late in the morning. (Did I say late? Can you believe it? Thank you, Harry, for the vacation of a lifetime!

Sunday, March 28, 2010. Can You Read This? Posted by Laura Swenson. Tuesday, March 2, 2010. It Never Occured To Me. Just when I think I've seen everything, I run across something that changes my view of life in America. Can you believe this? Just pause a moment and consider. I know I'll be missed when I shuffle off this mortal coil, but it is not necessary. I could be artfully posed sitting in my chair in front of the tv! Or, maybe in one of the more artful poses that this thoughtful business offers.

Saturday, October 25, 2008. So my fabulous blogger friend Tenille. Has tagged me twice (unless she knows another Eliza that is). The first tag is a photo tag I am to post the photo that is in the 8th file and 6th picture over. Drum roll please. Here is Morgan at Chuck E. Cheese or as my good friend Torrie likes to call it Chuck E. Disease. She hasn't had much luck with Mr. Cheese and her kids' health. We have all been lucky and left with our heath intact. Monday, March 29, 2010. A Day At The Park. Today was one of those rare days when you might not mind living in Bakersfield- beautiful and 78 degrees out. So Simone (my little BFF as Chris says) and I went to the park by our house. She loved laying on her blanket and looking around and I loved snapping some cute pics of her! Of course, she has the most adorable huge smile but I can never seem to take the picture quick enough.oh well they are very cute anyway and I did get one smile on camera.

Friday, June 5, 2009. Thoughts From the Rocking Chair. I have been overwhelmed lately with the things going on around us. It may be my age, but don't things seem to be moving too quickly? Case in point. I am thinking about buying a Kendle. I am experiencing a lot of pain in both of my arms and I think reading would be a lot easier with a lighter load to hold. But, here's the dilemma. There is already a Kendle2. Should I just bite the bullet with the new model? When will old number 3 come around? Nothing&...

Sunday, May 31, 2009. My Sweet Little Friend. When I think of dog lovers, Carrie Nelson Scanlan's name always pops into my mind. She really knew how to treat a dog. All I can say is: Dogs are God's little gift that keeps on giving and giving. Mia, Lilly, Brother, Chester, Arthur, Newton, and all of their little cousins: Thank you! Posted by Laura Swenson. Friday, May 29, 2009. It just might take the gloss off of the more common images of intimacy they are constantly bombarded with. Posted by Laura Swenson.
