This is a Willie Wagtail, one of the first birds I've positively identified here in PNG, as I have yet to find a bird book. For this one, Wikipedia came in handy. News from New Guinea. Wednesday, July 9, 2008. I can't believe it's already time to say goodbye to PNG. My plane leaves Ukarumpa Friday morning, and then I'll leave Port Moresby Sunday morning. Has it really been a month and a half already? It went so fast, probably because I enjoyed my time here so much. I'm excited to be coming home again, but I'm definitely going to miss it here too. News from New Guinea. Thursday, June 5, 2008. This morning we had a heavy rainstorm, which was good, because things were starting to get dry. (unfortunately, it hit during the time that I had to walk across the compound to go to the print center) Things are a lot greener and brighter right now, as the sun has finally come out and is starting to set. News from New Guinea. Friday, May 23, 2008. I leave for PNG tomorrow! My plane departs Newark around 6:30 PM, headed to LA. From there, I'll take a night flight across the Pacific to Brisbane, Australia, followed by a short jump to Port Moresby, PNG. I'll be staying in Port Moresby for a day until SIL has a flight out to Ukarumpa. All together, I'll spend about 24 hours in the air! Wednesday, May 21, 2008. Welcome to my blog!
