Tight, close horns can grow right into the skin of the cheek and cause immense suffering. Always try to keep only rams with horns well away from the face as they will pass this trait on to their lambs. BAD - Tight horns almost on the face. GOOD - wide horns well away. BAD - Very poor pasterns. GOOD - Ram lamb with short,. POOR - slightly cow hocked.

Some people keep mixed flocks but many folks strongly prefer one type or the other….leading to a gentle rivalry between flock owners! We are celebrating 20 years of providing heritage breeds to Northwest homesteads. We also raise dairy goats and grow dahlias, lavender, vegetables, and fruits.
