Friday, August 5, 2011. Road Trip: Days 2-4. The boys have done really well on this trip so far. They haven't really even watched that many movies on the DVD player. They find other ways to amuse themselves in the car. For example: building forts in the back of the van and using coffee cup holders to make hats for the dog. Tuesday, June 8, 2010. Chris' birthday was on May 20th. Grandma and Nanna came over for a family party that night and we gave him our gifts. Two days later we brought two of his friends with us to Nikiski Pool and water slide. Then we we went to Cold Stone for ice cream. Below are the photos of Chris hamming it up in all of his glory. The first PG-13 movie I let the boys see was Avatar. When the Home Tree was being bombed and all the Navi were running for their lives he said to me "This is really sad!

Tuesday, January 4, 2011. Maya turned five on January 2nd. It was a nice way to wrap up a very busy and fun New Year celebration. Her Aunt Kathleen came down from Fairbanks. Her Aunt Kristin came from Palmer. Uncle Michael and Aunt Karyn came from Anchorage with Cousin Boo. Uncle Michael brought fireworks and she stayed up past midnight to watch the fireworks show! We ate lots of yummy food and opened more presents so it was like Christmas and New Year all rolled in one. I love my Dora and Diego cake!

Sunday, September 5, 2010. What the Wises Did This Summer, Part 2. While Maya and I were in California, Matt and the boys went to Pendleton, OR to visit Poppop and Jean. They did a lot of things there and maybe one of these days Matt will write the blog entry. But I will just give you the highlights in 4 pictures:. They got to drive Poppop's tractor. They rode around in Poppop's gator. The day after they left, Sweetness gave birth to Sugar! Look at those ears! How cute is that? In Berkeley with her family.

Monday, April 19, 2010. So much has happened since I last blogged, I don't even know where to begin. Let's see, 2 weeks after Riley's State Championship, Homer hosted the Mite D Tournament with 3 teams from the Kenai. Area That was a blast. Then there was Easter. Then we had a blizzard. Then Sarah got a tumor the size of an ostrich egg taken out, along with her left ovary and tube. Then we celebrated Riley's birthday. I'll just skip to Riley's birthday. For his birthday, Riley wanted to go to Nikiski.

Sunday, August 7, 2011. Reasons we love Canada #4: Ketchup chips (and honey mustard and dill pickle). Reasons we love Canada #5: this bench made out of hockey sticks. The drive from Jasper to Banff. The only ugly apartment building in Banff are living quarters for the staff who work in hotels and restaurants like this one:. The boys decided they like Jasper better than Banff. It seems more down to earth. They even have a dog park. In fact, everywhere went, people wanted to pet our dog. One Year of Maya.

Monday, August 8, 2011. Yesterday we crossed the border into Montana around noon. We spent the afternoon in Glacier National Park. As soon as Chris saw the water, he wanted to go for a swim. We drove down into the valley and found this great little swimming hole with rocks to jump off of. Chris takes the plunge.
