In June of 2006, Michael Martell, a very conservative elder at San Francisco Central Adventist Church, announced that he would be starting a new class on July 1 based on a book entitled,. Must We Be Silent? Issues Dividing Our Church. My initial response was one of repulsion, and my gut instinct was to stay as far away from Martell’s class as possible.
