Jacqui's Room: Take That Book Haters, Redux
http://jacquirobbins.blogspot.com/2009/09/take-that-book-haters-redux.html
Come on in. I'm glad you could join us. Monday, September 7, 2009. Take That Book Haters, Redux. In which I once again read my children things that will ruin, ruin, RUIN their moral fiber. Oh, and I also teach kids how to be gay. That means it's almost Banned Books Week. September 26-October 3). Which means it's time for me to start forced calm breathing, because, well, because book banning makes me mad. As I wrote last year. Jacqui Reads Her Children Even More. Week One: The New Girl. And Me. I love this...
Jacqui's Room: My son loves pink, a rant
http://jacquirobbins.blogspot.com/2010/10/my-son-loves-pink-rant.html
Come on in. I'm glad you could join us. Friday, October 1, 2010. My son loves pink, a rant. Warning: extended, only remotely related to Banned Books Week rant below. Please find a more indicative sample of our regularly scheduled light-hearted silliness. Yes, my son loves pink. He loves his glittery “do you believe in fairies? 8221; shirt and his Hello Kitty water bottle and most of all his hot pink prairie skirt that twirls and that is, along with some boxer briefs, really the perfect summer play outfit.
Jacqui's Room: Help kids, humiliate Jacqui*
http://jacquirobbins.blogspot.com/2010/09/help-kids-humiliate-jacqui.html
Come on in. I'm glad you could join us. Friday, September 17, 2010. Help kids, humiliate Jacqui*. Things Jacqui Has Been Doing Instead of Blogging, part 1. Here are two things I love:. And here is 826michigan. One of my favorite non-profits, which is dedicated entirely to teaching kids to write. You will not find another organization making writing as fun, as creative, as appealing to all kids (even reluctant writers), or as cool as 826 makes writing. We have a ROBOT STORE. The Big House Big Heart. And o...
Jacqui's Room: Don Quixote: The Jacqui's Room Notes
http://jacquirobbins.blogspot.com/2008/06/don-quixote-jacquis-room-notes.html
Come on in. I'm glad you could join us. Monday, June 2, 2008. Don Quixote: The Jacqui's Room Notes. Don Quixote read too much. Thought he was a knight. Grabbed his squire, Sancho Panza. And set off to fight. Declared his love for Dulcinea,. Fought giants in her name. Got mocked, pinched, butted, robbed and kidnapped. She shunned him all the same. Stayed deluded 1,000 pages,. Ended up beaten and bleeding. Realized he'd been mad, then died. Such are the perils of reading. Labels: 15 Classics in 15 Weeks.

Monday, January 31, 2011. And it is, really. This is the fortune cookie message E got in her cookie on New Year's Eve. We have this tradition of going to Chinese restaurants for New Year's Eve. Amber Lough: February 2011
http://naptimewriter.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 18, 2011. What's the most important part of a book? It might be the beginning- that needs to be exciting, mysterious, and pull the reader in. Or it could be the long middle part- that's the meat, where the reader falls in love with the characters and lives their lives right beside them. But I think it's the ending. Because, really, when you finish a book and walk away from it, what do you carry around in your head? And I am still not sure. But then.it needs to get written. An...I've got ...
Amber Lough: Are longer books better books? Deeper books?
http://naptimewriter.blogspot.com/2012/09/are-longer-books-better-books-deeper.html
Thursday, September 6, 2012. Are longer books better books? It doesn't take drinking an entire ocean to know it holds a lot of water, right? You can pretty much figure that out with your eyes. You can tell it's deep by the hue. By the animals it holds. Actually, that's a better way anyway- wouldn't want you drinking salt water. But more to the point: is something better because it's bigger? I'm saying all this for two reasons. One, there's a thoughtful article from Salon. September 6, 2012 at 7:39 PM.

Jacqui's Room
Come on in. I'm glad you could join us. Monday, October 11, 2010. ATTENTION PEOPLE OF JACQUI'S ROOM. So we took her. She made a valiant effort at escape this weekend - even hopped a train to Chicago and ran 26.2 miles. This was clearly to avoid us (why else would anyone run that far? But it was misguided since she ran it in a big circle. We let her stop to take this photo. For proof. But then we got her. YOU SHALL KNOW OUR NAMES. You know, once we have names. The Bad Guys in Jacqui's New Book. And yes, I...
