The JadedWalker

Sunday, March 1, 2015. It’s March now. The Southern California Writer’s Conference ended two weeks ago. The novel is finished. It’s time I start polishing my manuscript into a fine shine and getting those query letters started. I expected to take a few days to decompress. I’m not surprised, though, that I’ve let two weeks go by. Okay, the post is done. I’m now officially back at work. Monday, February 16, 2015. This is the second writer’s conference I’ve attended. The first was the La Jol...The manuscrip...

Monday, January 13, 2014. The Last Chapter Three. The Last Chapter Three. First of all, I want to thank all those who listened to my long reading of the first three chapters of "The Majik of Spark" at the writer's group meeting on January 2nd. I truly appreciate the encouragement and comments. I'm a bit squeamish at doing readings, but it was a lot of fun, thanks to all of you. I'll be sending out Chapter Three for critique shortly. The JadedWalker: Where Did the Time Go?

http://www.jadedwalker.blogspot.com/2014/11/where-did-time-go.html

Sunday, November 16, 2014. Where Did the Time Go? Where Did the Time Go? My role as a "first reader" was to provide short feedback so that the second readers could focus on the better entries. Condensed down, I gave my opinion on whether a story was worth consideration for the anthology, and why or why not. I got confirmation that the Read and Critique package I'd sent had been receive...

The JadedWalker: February 2014

http://www.jadedwalker.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html

Friday, February 7, 2014. I wrote a short story called "The Hallway" back in 1991. Yes, that's how long ago it was. Over the years I worked on this story numerous times, but I never felt that I had it right. Publishers felt the same way, and it never sold. Like an itch I had to scratch, however, I kept coming back to it. Yesterday I finished it. The story is now called "Bane's Existence" which I think is a clever title that matches the intent of the story. I'm always a little giddy when I finish ...
