Have been exploring the world since birth! Also like to go on expeditions where few have traveled which you can explore on the "Expeditions" page. First dugout canoe expedition down 800km of the Morona river in the Amazon basin. We saw pristine nature, met the indigenous Shuar tribes, saw beautiful wildlife, and experienced the unbelievable. Training done with the Ecuadorian army's Amazon special force called the "Tigres". We learned how to build a raft, eat, drink, and make a shelter using solely the forest's resources. My 5 months experience as a "veterinary extern" during my last year of veterinary school where I attended the New York WCS Bronx zoo, Smithsonian National zoo, and the Toronto zoo. Sri Lanka elephant orphanage. Where I worked as a veterinary assistant in helping sick and injured orphaned elephants, as well as doing research on reproduction and nutrition. My work as a veterinary assistant helping mainly injured elephants as well as enjoying a bit of work with the mahouts. Australia zoo wildlife hospital.

Truly felt like I was on another planet! The Salar had unique sceneries, had extremes of hot and cold temperatures. The only country where I truly experienced a culture-shock . The presentation for everything is meticulously made to be original yet simple. The food was amazing, the people so helpful, the temples calming, and the onsens very hot! Cycled through a plain with hundreds of pagodas, found the most isolated temples and climbed up secret passages to the last terrace to watch sunsets and sunrises.

We had three days off following our first fire streak and Jodie, Doyle, Dean and I headed up to Liard hotsprings for a little bit of fun and relaxation (though, truth be told, I was far more tired when we got home than when we left! He roped and tied me. Shot his slingshot at me. And sat on me. But we made it, and at the top, we were all smiles :).

Before the spa, I even got a new sweater and earrings and a haircut so I was feeling girlier than ever by the end of the evening. To all the skiers in the northwest: i owe you an appology. it's my fault that the hill had to open late. that the early season powder just wasn't the same as the past few years. that rain has melted a lot of what little there was. it's all my fault and i'm sorry. The day she decided to come to Terrace, the snow turned to rain and then to cold clear days so that the skiing was terrible for her whole visit. Then the day she left, 20cm fell with more in the forecast all week. But, today, on the first day of snow in weeks, I sprained my ankle and likely won't be enjoying this dump. Ma and Pa Bartlett.
