Membership is open to all collectors interested in the stamps, philately, postal history and ephemera of Belgium. We welcome those who may not be able to attend meetings, but still wish to enjoy other benefits of membership - auctions, the packet circuit, or use of the library as well as having contact with other collectors. Our auctions are held twice a year, normally in April, and at our Conference Weekend in September. The auction usually consists of 300-400 lots of stamps, postal history, ephemera and literature of Belgium. We make every effort to make sure that as many of our members’ interests as possible are included. Dates for Your Diary. Unless stated otherwise, meetings are held at The Royal Philatelic Society London, 41 Devonshire Place, London, W1N 1PE. This is near Regents Park and Baker Street underground stations. We normally lunch at The Kings Head, Westmoreland Street nearby. It has good food and beer at reasonable prices. Welcome to Our Website. The Society was founded in 1950 by Bill Newport and John Simpson to study the stamps and postal history of the Channel Islands. Meetings three or four times a year, usually in London. An annual weekend meeting, either on one of the Channel Islands or on the UK mainland. Our journal “Les Iles Normandes” which is published quarterly. Exchange packets with members′ surplus material for sale which are circulated regularly in the UK and the Channel Islands. THE STAMPS OF THE CHANNEL ISLANDS. Both Guernsey and Jersey gained Postal Independence on 1 October 1969. Definitives, commemoratives, booklets and postage due stamps were then issued for both Islands. Jersey issued its first miniature sheet in June 1975 and its first Year Book in 1986.
