Jagged Daisy Blog

Wednesday, July 1, 2015. Taking pictures: use your feet. Today's tip is a two-in-one. Not only will it help with your photography, it also has some cardio vascular benefits. Don't always just stand in the first spot you get to and take your pictures from there. Move around and find a different angle (higher or lower), frame it differently (move left or right), get more details (walk closer) or show more context (walk further away). Jagged Daisy Blog: Print it!

http://www.jaggedd.blogspot.com/2015/06/print-it.html

Wednesday, June 3, 2015. When I moved from doing product photography to mostly portrait photography, I did what many photographers in the digital age tend to do: I simply offered the digital images on disk. It was a combination of misunderstanding what my clients need and forgetting why we actually have photos taken: too look at them! But don't just take my word for it. Wedding photographer Jamie Swanson. Was kind enough to share what she tells all her clients. Why Digital Images are Not Enough. However,...

Jagged Daisy Blog: Add colour to your day

http://www.jaggedd.blogspot.com/2015/06/add-colour-to-your-day.html

Tuesday, June 9, 2015. Add colour to your day. I've got a thing for butterflies. So after chatting to Talita, a Zentangle artist (more on her soon), I was inspired and decided to draw, well a butterfly. So this is my zentangle-inspired-art (T calls it Zia, coz she's smart that way). Download it, print it, colour it in, stick it on your wall, turn it into a card, make it yours. And once you are done, pop me an email ( suki@jaggeddaisy.co.za. With a photo of what you did - I wanna know!

Jagged Daisy Blog: Hold your loved ones in the palm of your hand

http://www.jaggedd.blogspot.com/2015/06/hold-your-loved-ones-in-palm-of-your.html

Thursday, June 18, 2015. Hold your loved ones in the palm of your hand. For Valentine’s day I had a session promo that included the most adorable little photo book. At the time I was only going to use it for that one promo, but every one that has seen it has raved about it so much that it will now be a regular item. The 75x7.5cm mini accordion album can easily fit in your handbag, and has become a fast favourite of grandmothers ;) Opened up they measure 45 cm. Search Jagged Daisy Blog.

Jagged Daisy Blog: Take the shot...

http://www.jaggedd.blogspot.com/2014/10/take-shot.html

Monday, October 20, 2014. You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. If you've bounced around my Facebook Page. Recently, you may have noticed a photo tip. I posted there, that basically says. take the photo. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that you should "spray and pray" (taking a lot of pics and hope for a good one), I believe you should always try your best. I'm talking about those times you see a moment unfold and you don't take the shot - coz it "won't be good enough". Please give me a shout.
