AC BUCKLAND: PAR 419. History and restoration of the first AC to compete at Goodwood. October 26, 2012. At the recent Thatcham Classic car show, I suddenly found myself talking to a rather nice gentleman who presented me with several copies of the AC Owners’ Club News Bulletins from the 1960s. He opened one of them to reveal a photo of PAR419 driving at Brands Hatch in 1968. “1968? 8220;How is the bonnet? Yet another piece of the car’s fantastic history filled in. AC BUCKLAND: PAR 419. History and restoration of the first AC to compete at Goodwood. December 12, 2013. Taking to the floor…. The momentum has continued this week and with the aluminium parts in place, attention has been turned to making new wooden sections for the front half of the flooring. The time consuming part has been making the templates from scratch but we’re almost there… then it will be time to attack the bulkhead panelling! Laquo; Progress at last! More from the archives….

AC BUCKLAND: PAR 419. History and restoration of the first AC to compete at Goodwood. I am the Art Editor for Classic and Sports Car magazine. I came across the AC through a colleague – Editor-in-chief, Mick Walsh. PAR 419 used to belong to his father, but during his ownership the car was garaged with a clutch problem. It was a sprint meeting and I put up best time of the day for the ladies but didn’t win as they had a secret handicap that was the best time between practice and run! My boy-friend at the tim...
