Caught in Grace

Wednesday, October 5, 2016. Over this past summer, due to some plumbing issues, we needed to replace the toilet in the kids' bathroom. As usual, one thing led to another and before Tim knew it, he was planking the walls for me. And since he had to take everything out to plank the walls, we decided to go ahead and switch out the vanity, as well as the light fixture too. So the kids' bathroom got a fun freshening up. After that update, it looked like this. I painted the sign and Tim made the frame for it&#...

Caught in Grace: Bedroom Dresser Makeover

http://jaimescott.blogspot.com/2014/11/bedroom-dresser-makeover.html

Wednesday, November 12, 2014. Not long after Tim and I got married, we got tired of our hand-me-down bedroom furniture, so we went out and bought a big matching set of bedroom furniture. It seemed like the grown-up thing to do at the time. I really wanted to start completely over, find pieces that I really loved, and create a room that was lighter and brighter with an eclectic mix of unique pieces. So after some major convincing on my part, Tim let me sell our bedroom set on Craigslist. BUT after sanding...

Caught in Grace: Valentine's Day and House Projects

http://jaimescott.blogspot.com/2015/02/valentines-day-and-house-projects.html

Tuesday, February 17, 2015. Valentine's Day and House Projects. It's become a yearly tradition that I make Peppermint Patties for Valentine's Day. I use this recipe. I add a little bit of red food coloring to make the middle pink and then cut them out with heart shaped cookie cutters before dipping them in chocolate. I've also found that I like using Bakers semi-sweet chocolate to dip them in rather than chocolate chips because it goes on much smoother and easier. These things really are so delicious.

Caught in Grace: Guest Bathroom Makeover

http://jaimescott.blogspot.com/2015/03/guest-bathroom-makeover.html

Monday, March 16, 2015. In my last blog, I mentioned that we had been working on a few smaller projects around the house. One of them was a mini-makeover for our basement bathroom. I'm back today with some before and after pictures for you. Below are the before pictures:. As you can see, it was basically green and brown and very blah. After Tim finished the drywall, I gave the ceiling and the walls a fresh coat of paint and then he put everything up on the walls. I really love how this bathroom turned ou...

Caught in Grace: Repurposed pallets

http://jaimescott.blogspot.com/2011/07/repurposed-pallets.html

Friday, July 1, 2011. Then, when Tim and I were in Seacrest, Fl. back in May, I was inspired by some of the things we saw while perusing through the shops. The prices for the items were more than what we wanted to spend, so we snapped some pictures and told ourselves that surely we could make something similar. We figured it couldn’t be too hard, especially since we already had the boards. We saw this picture frame. I actually loved it, but it was like $80 (or was it $200? And the best part: it was free!

The Mike and Lacy Show: November 2008

http://tmlshow.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html

Tuesday, November 4, 2008. Josiah's started playing roly-poly on his bedroom floor.  He no longer just flops around on his blanket.  He rolls until he can't go any more.  Just a little while ago he bonked his head into the bottom of his little rocking chair.  It left a red mark but it's already gone.  So now there is a blanket in front of the chair. Next thing I know he'll be crawling! Saturday, November 1, 2008. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Kiva, Loans that change lives.

The Mike and Lacy Show: Crawling...And Climbing?

http://tmlshow.blogspot.com/2009/03/hello-everyone-this-is-very-first-post.html

Saturday, March 14, 2009. This is the very first post by the 'Mike' in 'The Mike and Lacy Show'. Lacy graciously allowed me to pitch in and provide an update, so here goes! Yes, those are Christmas lights Josiah is trying to get a hold of. Don't tell anyone we still have them up ;). Thus far, Josiah has approached crawling with the utmost prudence and care. And who can blame him? Needless to say, we dropped his crib bed down to the lowest setting immediately after recording this! View my complete profile.

The Mike and Lacy Show: May 2009

http://tmlshow.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html

Sunday, May 24, 2009. For Josiah's first birthday (which was a month ago! We had few friends over for cake and ice cream.  We live across the street from one of the 10,000 lakes in MN.  Lake Josephine has a park with a swimming beach, playground, boat launch, fishing dock and numerous picnic tables. The weather was absolutely beautiful that day.  I know everyone enjoyed being outside.  . I made a special gluten, dairy and egg free chocolate brownie for Josiah to chow down and boy did he! 160;We did give ...

Wednesday, September 10, 2008. Is every other vehicle a SUV or bigger and can you go to a Mexican food restaurant and have the waiter ask if you want tea, water or Dr. Pepper! Man, I missed Texas! I've been spoiled by being up north already. The last few days we spent with my mom in Dallas. My good friend Bethany. Also got to meet Josiah, we had a good visit with her! And were able to see my Aunt, Uncle, cousin and her family. Here's some pictures from that visit:. Josiah, Lisa and cousin Ben. During thi...

the bad and the ugly about GMO’s | out-of-the-box mama

Eat small. shop small. live small. You are here: Home. The bad and the ugly about GMO’s. The bad and the ugly about GMO’s. August 11, 2015. If you haven’t heard the term GMO, I would be surprised. But if asked, could you explain it to someone? This topic is a doozy, friends. So let’s start with a little humor shall we? Jimmy Kimmel isn’t my favorite comedian, but I thought this video was an appropriate way to begin. This topic is huge. Ginormous, I tell ya! So, what are GMO’s, anyway? For the purposes of...

BioMeridian Testing Real Or Not. Posted by: Admin on Monday, May 19, 2014 1:04 pm. So, my friend was having this pain in her gut and whenever we head out to dinner, she is always getting ready for what ever she's gonna consume. It's like she knows its going to hurt her belly, however she has to eat to survive. I told her she needs to Google her signs that she's feeling to see exactly. [continued]. Going Hard Staying Home

Tuesday, November 25, 2014. Racism of the 21st Century - August 2014. So I started keeping a journal every time I got upset over a sensitive issue, I wrote about it privately in order to get out what I wanted to say without keyboard warriors talking uneducated nonsense on a topic that they don't grasp in the least. It has helped me gather my thoughts. Please remember these were written over the last three months. You think that I am wrong, because you see it is not about being wrong or right. We are.
