Rêve Rouge: In Australia at Last
http://reverouge.blogspot.com/2011/12/in-australia-at-last.html
Tuesday, December 27, 2011. In Australia at Last. After a 4-hour flight to LA, then a few hours layover in the cruddy LA airport, then a 15-hour flight to the Melbourne airport, then a 30-minute bus ride to the city center, and a 30-minute tram ride to my hostel, and I finally arrive to find it closed. Then it started raining. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I enjoy a hot cup of French press coffee in the morning, and a glass of red wine at night. View my complete profile. In Australia at Last.

Rêve Rouge: April 2011
http://reverouge.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 26, 2011. Muscle Definition Class = Not for Me. The pool is closed for a week for cleaning, so I thought I’d take this opportunity to branch out and try some other things at my gym. Muscle Definition seemed like it could be fun. My shorts, I later discovered. Dunno how that happened. THANKS CAT! I guess. I’m proud of myself for trying something new. And at least I now know that I’ll never ever go back. Monday, April 25, 2011. I’ve spent a lot of time with kids, both in schools and as...

Rêve Rouge: #15 City
http://reverouge.blogspot.com/2012/02/15-city.html
Tuesday, February 07, 2012. I'm coming back to the 30 Days of Indie Travel Challenge on BootsnAll. Prompt #15: CITY What is your favorite (or least favorite) city and what do you love (or hate) about it? Traveling is one of my top priorities. It's why I'm a super budgeter and couponer, why I cook at home more than I eat out, and why I don't buy a lot of new clothes. It's why my passport looks like this:. Carl Sandburg, "Chicago". I could go on and on, but today's a new day, and Chicago is waiting for me.

Rêve Rouge: January 2012
http://reverouge.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 23, 2012. I'm coming back to the 30 Days of Indie Travel Challenge on BootsnAll. Prompt #28: GEAR. The right gear can make or break your trip. What gear did you wish you had on your most recent trip? But all she could find were her dad's size 42 boots and XL jacket. We packed them in the car. But the shoes served me well. They took me to this glacier for example:. Here are a few other things that I think I will pack for my next trip regardless of where I am going:. Disposable camera (ther...

Rêve Rouge: June 2011
http://reverouge.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 25, 2011. After my sunrise adventure last Friday. And the next morning, I was gathered with a bunch of strangers, ready to run five miles. That was a week ago, and I've since attended almost every workout. And I'm tired. Really tired. But I'm going to keep going to the practices and see what happens. Maybe just sacrificing my social life. Also, even though I can afford to buy a wetsuit, do I wanna? Do I want to be that girl who has a wetsuit hanging next to her summer dresses in the closet?

Rêve Rouge: July 2011
http://reverouge.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 26, 2011. SO Close to Paris! There are few things that would make me jump up and down in my apartment, run back and forth, and screech like a crazy lady. 1. Winning the lottery (because then I could go to France) and 2. Finding out that I was really close to winning a trip to France. Air France USA is running this contest. They asked their Facebook fans to create an image or photo around the theme "Picture Yourself in Paris," and that is exactly what I did. See below:. Wanna help me win?

Rêve Rouge: September 2011
http://reverouge.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 29, 2011. You know how grocery stores now have containers of disinfectant wipes so you can degerm your cart? As I was leaving the store yesterday, I saw this guy reach into the container and pull out the whole roll of wipes. He slowly stuffed it in his bag as I gave him a dirty and disgusted look. Who steals a roll of wipes like that? As soon as I was outside the store, I felt terrible. I wished I hadn't given him that look. Make you stuff in back into the container? We waited extra l...

Rêve Rouge: More wine!
http://reverouge.blogspot.com/2012/02/more-wine.html
Thursday, February 16, 2012. Although no one blamed me, and both the event organizer and sommelier were grateful that I tried, I felt frustrated and dumb. Wine is supposed to be fun! Fun is not standing in front of 15 people stumbling through translating the éraflage. Steps of the vinification process. I think the people who paid for the event had fun though, and that’s what really matters. And this is the perfect opportunity to talk about the last fun experience I had with wine. Rêve Rouge: #16 Baggage
http://reverouge.blogspot.com/2012/02/16-baggage.html
Wednesday, February 08, 2012. I'm coming back to the 30 Days of Indie Travel Challenge on BootsnAll. Prompt #16: BAGGAGE. Mental baggage can weigh us down as much as physical baggage when we travel. How do you travel lightly – either emotionally or physically? Hrm how do I travel lightly? I will inevitably pack one outfit I will never wear for whatever reason. I will always bring more notebooks than I will ever need, but can't stop packing so many. What if I RUN OUT OF NOTEBOOKS? And I wasn't really pro ...
