Jakkulan kylä sijaitsee keskellä Laihian kuntaa, valtatie 3:n eli Tampereentien varrella. Valtatie 3 kulkee kylän länsireunaa pitkin sijoittuen kylän ja Laihianjoen väliin. Kylän keskustan läpi kulkee vanha kolmostie, joka nykyisellään toimii Vaasasta aina Kylänpäähän ulottuvan pyörätien osana. Nykyiseen Laihian kunnan keskustaan Jakkulasta on matkaa noin 5 kilometriä. Laihian kunnan ensimmäinen kunnantalo oli Jakkulassa vuodesta 1913 vuoteen 1961. Myös Laihian ensimmäinen, yksityinen kansakoulu perustettiin Jakkulaan v. 1867 ja se toimi pari vuotta. Naapurikylään perustettiin ensimmäinen kunnan ylläpitämä kansakoulu 1870. Allisen kylässä toimi oma koulu 1918 1927. Sen jälkeen Allisen lapset kävivät koulua vuoteen 1963 Naarajoessa Isonkyrön puolella ja sittemmin Isonkylän koulussa. Kaikki sisältö 2008-2015 Laihian Jakkulan kyläyhdistys ry. ellei toisin mainita.

Etelä-Pohjanmaan kylien yhteisessä Kekrijuhlassa Ylistaron Tapaninlinnassa 24.10.2014 palkittiin Seinäjoen seudun, Suupohjan ja Kyrönmaan parhaat kylät. Jakkula sai vastaanottaa juhlassa oheisen kunniamainintataulun. Taulua oli vastaanottamassa Jakkulan kyläyhdistyksen puolesta pj Markku Uitto ja Laihian Nuorisoliiton puolesta pj Minna Niemi. Taulu saa arvoisensa paikan Nuorisoliiton seinällä. 2592012 klo 9.19.
