The infrequent writings of. Why I'm Not Married. Now that I’ve done some labored analysis. Of dating culture in the church, it’s time to do some of the same to myself. After all, the main purpose of this blog is navel gazing. So why am I not married? The proximate cause is pretty obvious: I haven’t dated anyone, ever. That tends to be a prerequisite to marriage these days. But that doesn’t really answer the question. Why don’t I date? 1) I can be a terrible misanthrope. 3) I’m too busy. 6) I live at home.
