The Jalalabad Endeavor: The final days
http://routineisboring.blogspot.com/2007/04/final-days.html
My experiences and observations during my third trip to the Middle East. Sunday, April 8, 2007. So here I sit in Bagram. Airfield in Afghanistan waiting on a flight. The past few days have been pretty boring as I try to find things to fill the time. Even with PT, meals with friends and the Internet. I have found myself lying around with little to do. While I wouldn't say I am homesick I am certainly ready to get this demobilization process over with. The winning of hearts and minds.

The Jalalabad Endeavor: December 2006
http://routineisboring.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html
My experiences and observations during my third trip to the Middle East. Monday, December 18, 2006. Dog, who was the other dog living at the PRT. Until a couple of months ago, had puppies. Jake was a bit worried that they might be his but they don't look anything like him. Lucky dog! So we went and took photos of them because if they aren't taken by anyone they probably won't last long. Hey, it's a hard life. Http:/ i112.photobucket.com/albums/n184/potus55/MamadogPuppies1.jpg. My experiences and observations during my third trip to the Middle East. Saturday, July 29, 2006. Afghanistani Modes of Transportation. Welcome to an Afghanistan city. Essentially I was a driver in one of our convoys to the city where we made numerous stops. While we were waiting at these places I noticed many different types of vehicles. Everything from horse drawn to actual. Cars (Don't worry P.E.T.A., Afghanistan is equal. Http:/ i112.photobucket.com/albums/n184/potus55/AfghanModesTrans.gif. When peop...

My experiences and observations during my third trip to the Middle East. Saturday, August 26, 2006. Humanitarian. What, me? Between us and them, are giving out their own humanitarian supplies at the same place we are. Go team! Oh well, I'm sure the kids down the road didn't want backpacks anyway. And yes, that is me in the front looking irritated. Why, I don't know. Maybe it's the shadows. Http:/ i112.photobucket.com/albums/n184/potus55/MeSuppliesAfghanis.jpg. Links to this post. The Jalalabad Endeavor: March 2007
http://routineisboring.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
My experiences and observations during my third trip to the Middle East. Sunday, March 25, 2007. Why this happens I couldn't tell you. You see, even thought we may be almost out of Afghanistan there are many things that need to happen before we can get home; to include a 24 hour plane trip and a week of out processing in Georgia. The first three pictures are of PFC Striegle. In a "gunner suit." It is designed to protect gunners from the immense pressure created from an IED. Or bomb which can liquefy.

The Jalalabad Endeavor: November 2006
http://routineisboring.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html
My experiences and observations during my third trip to the Middle East. Sunday, November 26, 2006. This picture sums up the frustration of improving Afghanistan. So I was browsing through my photos when I came upon this one. This was taken in a Police Station and appears ordinary at first. But if you look at the ladder you will notice it is placed on top of stairs. This of course begs the question of why? Why not complete the stairs? Why not build a longer ladder? Links to this post. With trying to impr...

My experiences and observations during my third trip to the Middle East. Saturday, January 27, 2007. Links to this post. Friday, January 26, 2007. The end of leave. Most certainly not fun. But hooking up and watching the big screen TV I purchased was definitely. Links to this post. Wednesday, January 17, 2007. I am now one week into my leave and am finally able to drive my car! Yes, it has taken a full week for the snow to melt but it has been worth it. I have been driving my sister's truck this past...

The Jalalabad Endeavor: October 2006
http://routineisboring.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
My experiences and observations during my third trip to the Middle East. Saturday, October 28, 2006. While the photo name says me, it is not me but another soldier. This soldier has been filling sandbags all day and stacking them on top of a two story building. This was in addition to other squads cutting grass or performing a police call. While these duties don't happen too often, when they do it is done in an "all out" fashion, as the face of this soldier demonstrates. Links to this post. They will use...
