Ryndam Cruise to Key West, Honduras and Nicaragua

MS Ryndam of Holland America, loading in Tampa, Florida. The Cruise Ship docks share a canal with oil storage facilities. The Norwegian Sea leaves port ahead of us. Pat goes over the available tours as we ready to leave port. We enjoy the Reggae rhythms of steel drums as the ship unties. Someone added interest to an oil storage tank. We move down the channel in Tampa. Coming into Key West Harbor. We pass Disney Magic as we approach our berth. The lineman waits to catch the bowline. Weaving a palm hat.

The Train from Naples, Italy, to Gissen, Germany

A Swiss village near the Gotthard tunnel. A lake in northern Switzerland. When the carrier anchored, I caught one of the first liberty boats ashore and went to the train station in Naples. I bought a ticket to Gissen, and paid for an upgrade to second class, where I would get a reserved seat. Kayaking Esperanza and Nuchatlitz Inlets, Vancouver Island

Benson Point, Nuchatlitz Inlet. Seven of us ended up on the trip. In pairs and one singly, we took our kayaks and gear in cars on the Anacortes or Tsuwassen Ferries to Vancouver Island. We then drove up Vancouver Island past Campbell River, and then another 90 miles to the tiny community of Zeballos, the last 40 miles on gravel road.
