http://cadytolon.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Oooh baby baby, it's a wide world. Musings and anecdotes about my adventures in Kigali, Rwanda. Stay tuned! Wednesday, September 17, 2008. Ain't No Mountain High Enough. So, I have been living in Africa for a month now. Wow, I still have a difficult time buying that sentence. Even though I can scarcely remember a time before I was here in Rwanda, it just isn't possible that it's already been a month! Where we last left off, our amazing African adventurer was amidst her 1. I recommend you check it out.

The Battle Cry of the Uninspired: March 2009
http://lucasmatthews.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
The Battle Cry of the Uninspired. Thursday, March 5, 2009. My Last Day in Sonseca. This is the last entry I will write on here from Spain. In two days (God and RyanAir willing) I will be home in the United States. This is hard to wrap my mind around, in truth. Now it is all memories. Or something like a memory. Tuesday, March 3, 2009. More Things About Spain, or "Peter Paul and Mary Jesus". Especially when she was born AFTER the dance craze? As I counted the pores on his nose he replied, "Eh, I'm sick...

The Battle Cry of the Uninspired: November 2008
http://lucasmatthews.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
The Battle Cry of the Uninspired. Thursday, November 27, 2008. Looking Forward to Loving You" and Giving Thanks, all in Mp3. First, here is a new and original song. I am very nervous to share it. It is longer than most things I write, but it is a story-song and thus merits it. I hope. Today is Thanksgiving and I would love to be in the United States. But here are some things I am thankful for:. Talking to my mother, father, and grandmother on Skype today. Having such a loving and beautiful family. But th...

The Battle Cry of the Uninspired: Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes
http://lucasmatthews.blogspot.com/2010/10/ch-ch-ch-ch-changes.html
The Battle Cry of the Uninspired. Saturday, October 2, 2010. Remember when I used to write on here? I am in the middle of creating and cultivating new habits to make my life more like I want it to be (thus the Bowie-referencing title, because who doesn't feel inspired to be a better man from listening to David Bowie? And this is good. So updates, then! Returning to Colorado, I decided to take a trip and clear my head (but of course the opposite always results). I went to the Great Sand Dunes National...

Oooh baby baby, it's a wide world: Let's Stay Together
http://cadytolon.blogspot.com/2008/11/lets-stay-together.html
Oooh baby baby, it's a wide world. Musings and anecdotes about my adventures in Kigali, Rwanda. Stay tuned! Wednesday, November 19, 2008. I am thoroughly sorry for all my loyal fans (mom and dad that's you! For not updating this thing in a month, and it may be too late to apologize, but I really am sorry. Let's start with life in the 4. By Louis Sachar, etc.). They preformed a traditional American square dance routine a couple weekends ago at the KICS International Fall Festival and tore it up! So to wra...

The Battle Cry of the Uninspired: Amplify
http://lucasmatthews.blogspot.com/2010/01/amplify.html
The Battle Cry of the Uninspired. Thursday, January 7, 2010. Recently I've received a few emails with new, encouraging comments that have been posted here on my blog. Whether these are real or merely the well-meaning and unimaginative attempts of my sister to goad me into posting more, they are appreciated. I've been sick or sick-ish for a few days now which is frustrating for me to reconcile with my typically indomitable immune system. Labels: Starting over all over again. Have a wonderful day! January ...

The Battle Cry of the Uninspired: February 2009
http://lucasmatthews.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
The Battle Cry of the Uninspired. Thursday, February 26, 2009. Sun Rise, Sun Rex, Sun Set, Sun Spent. It takes a while to travel to Portugal, as I decided to do last weekend with my friend Caroline. I was to meet her in Badajoz first, so I had plenty of time to think throughout the day. I woke early to catch buses and was rewarded with seeing the sun rise, illuminating fog that had crept over and peacefully lay like a blanket on the low mountains of Castilla-La Mancha. The sun dipped below the horizon ca...

The Battle Cry of the Uninspired: Stages of Being at Home: Rest
http://lucasmatthews.blogspot.com/2010/10/stages-of-being-at-home-rest.html
The Battle Cry of the Uninspired. Sunday, October 3, 2010. Stages of Being at Home: Rest. As I travel more and see the sadly homogenized cityscapes (the same Wal-Marts, same fast food joints, same hotels becoming faux-familiarity-inducing landmarks), it is good to see my home not in stasis but rather following a known path. And so I sink into them all, thrill to find that I still fit, and I rest. So, i miss you. I suppose i should have tried calling instead. I would like that alot. Blah, blah, blog.

The Battle Cry of the Uninspired: January 2009
http://lucasmatthews.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
The Battle Cry of the Uninspired. Thursday, January 29, 2009. Playing the Victim," or Another Song Posted in Fashionable Mp3 Format. Here is a song I've been sitting on for a while and finally recorded. I wrote the lyrics sitting just outside of the walled portion of Toledo a month or so ago. It's about wanting to believe someone despite all the evidence pointing to the contrary. Keep in mind, I wrote it a while ago, so there is no grudge behind this song. Not all of the feelings are still true. Four hou...

The Battle Cry of the Uninspired: Clarity
http://lucasmatthews.blogspot.com/2010/01/clarity.html
The Battle Cry of the Uninspired. Monday, January 25, 2010. Some of you know this, too: I am very ready to have a decent job, and to earn a living. Now that I'm a fully mature man of 24, this seems to be right and proper. I have not written much about this "decent job" that I am seeking because it would be embarrassing not to get hired and then to have this failure memorialized in digital form. But I DO need a decent job; I will allow that. Hopefully it will come sooner than later, just like heaven.
