It’s a little harder to make this picture out, but if you look closely you can see one of the eyes pretty well, and I think the nose, too. And I really liked seeing his cute little feet. He seemed to be just chilling out during the ultrasound. He was laying on his back and had his arms up above his head and his legs crossed at the ankles, like he was just lounging and having a good old time. These are just some of the diffe...

The View From Where We Are. August 29, 2010 in Uncategorized. Yesterday we had gorgeous weather here, so we all decided to spend the day up on Mt. Vitosha. We see Vitosha everyday, since it’s one of the dominating landmarks in Sofia, but we have just never gotten around to going up to the top. We took a gondola lift almost all the way to the top. It was about a 30-minute ride. The lift is really just a couple miles from where we lived, so I can’t believe we just now got around to doing this. You are comm...

The View From Where We Are. August 4, 2010 in Uncategorized. Vinaigrette with tarragon sounds like something I would try, but vinaigrette with estrogen? I think if any of you out there would like a job in editing, then you’d find plenty of work here in Bulgaria. This particular restaurant would really appreciate your services, because I’m pretty sure that no English-speaking person in their right mind would ever order that menu item. Andrea on Baby Updates. There was a nice-looking couple sitting at the table next to ours, though, and so we approached them and asked them if they had seen a purse nearby. They had, in fact! She then took us to a security guard, who told us that the purse was taken to the information desk on the ground floor. We found the information desk without too much troubl...

January - - We had several snow days in January. You can tell how broken-hearted Samuel was to miss school. February - - Samuel and Hannah enjoy a warm day by swinging . March - - We visited the Air Museum in Gulf Shores on the way back from our Spring Break trip to Florida. April - - Hannah was a German girl for Montessori's International Dinner.

Sunday, April 25, 2010. Hannah was invited to her first sleepover this weekend, and it was actually for most of the weekend! She got to play with Barbies, ride a horse, jump on a trampoline, build a bird feeder at Lowe's, and sport some lovely eye makeup. She even got a Fayetteville Police Dept. tattoo! Here are some pictures of her enjoying being a "big girl." Boy, she seems like she's grown up so much in the past few months. Tuesday, April 6, 2010. Sunday, April 4, 2010. The Huneycutt Family: Schlitterbahn
http://huneycuttfamily.blogspot.com/2011/08/schlitterbahn.html
Saturday, August 6, 2011. The kids all swim well, so they're at a great age for a water park. Most of the rides are tube rides with good old-fashioned black inner tube tires! Several of the tube rides last twenty minutes or so from the time you get in at the top, float through all the rapids and then splash into the river at the bottom. It's great fun to gently float along the river, which is shaded almost completely by the giant live oak trees lining both sides, until you reach the getting out point.
The Huneycutt Family: Remember the Alamo

Saturday, August 6, 2011. Sorry the picture is so big - I'm working on our new computer and haven't quite figured out copying and pasting with this giant non-mouse thing on the side of the keyboard.) It's not that Samuel is a struggling reader. Just the opposite. It's just that I have a hard time motivating him to start new books. Nothing is as good as Harry Potter (his opinion! Nothing. So why bother, right? Here are some pics of our time at the Alamo:. Hannah has to look inside. I have one who has been...

Wednesday, March 24, 2010. The Bike Ride Blues. I had this brilliant idea that a family bike ride on one of Fayetteville's many trails would be a fun thing to do in the nice spring weather (the weather that we have had for one day out of all of spring break! I think I would really enjoy biking on either of these trails and plan to do so as soon as I get a new bike, preferably one that won't impale me when I sit on it, AND just as soon as I find someone to go with besides my children. Any takers? Bring Yo...

Musings of an Outdoor Addict. Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out that going to the mountain is going home; that wildness is necessity; that mountain parks and reservations are useful not only as fountains of timber and irrigating rivers, but as fountains of life. – John Muir. Virginia, Right Now. Sunday, March 27, 2011. I Beat the Odds. Over Spring Break a couple of weeks ago I finally had the chance to read Michael Oher's book, I Beat the Odds. Hope through a Dream. From the time he was seven, his sights were set on the future. "I knew that I wanted a life outside of the 'hood and I knew that the only way I could get it would be to go after it on my own.". Working toward the Dream. Two of her key points reminded me of exactly what Michael Oher is telling the children who are...

Virginia, Right Now. Monday, August 6, 2012. I really do love the excitement of the first day of school! Today was my first day teaching 6th grade. After introducing myself during class, I gave scholars the opportunity on their exit ticket to ask anything else they still wanted to know about me. Here are the top answers:. 1 How old are you? 2 Do you have any kids? 1 Do you have any tattoos? 2 Do you play kickball? 3 What is your religion? 4 Were you a cheerleader? 5 Is that your real hair?

Saturday, December 31, 2011. 2011 - A Great Year. The following post is a year full of pictures . . . how the Huneycutts spent 2011. It was a wonderful year with many blessings! In January, Jacob won the school geography bee and is pictured with Dr. Farrah, the moderator. 2011 saw our biggest snows ever. When you added up all of our snow days, we missed two full weeks of school due to the white, fluffy stuff. We spent a lot of time indoors. At home. Night sledding at St. Joseph's close to our house.

Little did James know that Alli happened to be his senior and was no intern. Alli and James are excited to share their love with you and are both eternally grateful for their friends and family.

The View From Where We Are. October 27, 2010 in Uncategorized.
