James Cradit: Day 2: Two Pan to Lakes Basin: 8.0 miles

http://jamescradit.blogspot.com/2007/12/day-2-two-pan-to-lakes-basin-80-miles.html

Wednesday, December 19, 2007. Day 2: Two Pan to Lakes Basin: 8.0 miles. With the horses gone and the letterbox hidden, we finished the climb up to a marvelous three mile stroll through the meadows of the East Lostine River Valley. The valley in this portion has the classic U-shape of a glacial carved valley and better yet is very flat! We were close. Now all there was left was to find the table. I dropped my pack and went on ahead and soon spotted the table! Posted by James Cradit @ 1:34 PM.

Wednesday, December 19, 2007. Day 3: Lakes Basin Day Hike: 8.0 miles. We woke up to a beautiful day with no sign of smoke. We made breakfast and as I was exploring the vicinity I found a nice sized hole in the ground. It was out in the open but out of sight from our tents and just the right size and depth for a latrine. Another feature in our fabulous four star campground! We washed up and got the wine out. I was really starting to like this set up! To go to bed. Posted by James Cradit @ 1:49 PM.

James Cradit: September 2006

Sunday, September 03, 2006. Tenas Camp to Washington. Day7, Tenas Camp to Washington: 10.5 .5 miles. We woke up and fairly quickly ate and packed: we had almost seven miles to. Charburger and we wanted to be there! Located at the Charburger parking lot. We went in and enjoyed the view of the river and the Bridge of the Gods while eating our huckleberry pie and hamburgers. Yum! Posted by James Cradit @ 4:09 PM. Wahtum Lake to Tenas Camp. Day 6, Wahtum Lake to Tenas Camp (Eagle Creek): 9.2 miles. We had se...

Wednesday, December 19, 2007. Day 7: Back to Two Pan: 4.5 miles. We reluctantly got out of our tents as it was still really cold - one downside of camping deep in a narrow canyon where it takes a while for the sun to reach. We ate quickly and packed up and headed back to the Two Pan trailhead. The day was pretty uneventful. We did pass several folks who looked really strange to me. I finally figured out that it was because they were clean! Posted by James Cradit @ 3:52 PM. We decided to play a game of sc...

James Cradit: Timberline Lodge to Paradise Park

http://jamescradit.blogspot.com/2006/08/timberline-lodge-to-paradise-park.html

Friday, August 25, 2006. Timberline Lodge to Paradise Park. Day 1, Timberline Lodge to Paradise Park: 4.1 miles. As we were all raring to go we loaded up and hit the road. Soon we were met with a swarm of California Tortoise Shell Butterflies. As we later. We ran the gauntlet of tourists as we threaded our way through the lodge and up to the second floor where we escaped and headed up the maze of trails to find the Timberline Trail, which is also the Pacific Crest Trail for several miles on the. There we...

Tuesday, January 18, 2005. Originally uploaded by funhog. Ma Nature conspired against us getting to see the Rockin' K in snow this weekend. We woke to sheets of ice instead of asphalt roads Saturday morning and decided that leaving for the Ranch would be total insanity. I only hope we haven't missed our only chance to see a scene like this this year. It killed me not to go and cast seed for our feathered neighbors. Posted by Funhog @ 3:28 PM. Monday, October 02, 2006. The Baby Shower: Men's Edition. Work done in Spokane, I had to decide where I would pitch my tent for the night. I pulled out the laptop, found a stray wifi signal and pulled up the LbNA map for Washington. I spotted a letterbox hidden by Wood Aug and Kurious Jo at Palouse Falls State Park. This was the perfect choice! Oh dear. Then James, who looks like Dennis the Menace at twenty-something, came over and put his arm around me and asked if that was a problem. Sheesh. This nickn...

Monday, October 31, 2005. Originally uploaded by funhog. Just as it does every year, the weather turns to junk just in time for the ghosts and goblins. Somehow, a raincoat over a princess gown just doesn't quite cut it. It's gray, wet and gloomy making me long for those toasty days lounging at the Ranch. Gimme a big ol' glass of iced tea and I'm a pig in mud. Time to bundle up and light a fire. Posted by Funhog @ 1:34 PM. My Review of REI Chrysalis UL Tent - 07 Overstock. The Pig Pen: March 2005

http://funhog1.blogspot.com/2005_03_01_archive.html

Sunday, March 06, 2005. Originally uploaded by funhog. It was yet another glorious weekend at the ranch. For some reason, the deer were all in hiding and nary a one showed it's big brown eyes while we were there. However, today was a landmark since I spotted the first little, bitty lizard of the year as well as the first spring bloom. Tiny as it was, its sunny little smile was a joyful reminder of the changing seasons. Posted by Funhog @ 11:59 PM. Originally uploaded by funhog. Posted by Funhog @ 11:47 PM.

Saturday, December 31, 2005. In a place that gets less than 16" of rain a year, flooding isn't something you would tend to think about. Think again. these pics were taken yesterday at our desert cabin. The funniest part is that less than a week ago, we were there and I said, "wouldn't it be fun to have a pond here? I get my wish and I'm not even there to see it in person. The neighbors sent these for our enjoyment. Posted by Funhog @ 11:09 AM. Tuesday, December 27, 2005. Robins deck juniper boughs,.

Thursday, July 27, 2006. Off to see the wizard! After weeks, no months. Of planning, the day dawned for the big adventure, bright, sunny and very exciting! As we cinched up the seat belts for the last six mile stretch to Barlow Pass, Wing discovered that the van refused to go and inch farther. Turning the key resulted in absolutely nothing; not a click or a hum. A local mechanic suggested that we just sit for awhile, then try again. Sure ‘nuff! We were soon deposited at the trailhead, with the engine sti...
