Jim was born February 25, 1959 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, Louisiana to proud parents Al and Kay (. Ironside) Long. He had two older sisters, Bea and Vicky, and later, a younger sister, Mary. Jim (Tweets, Mercury, Jimbo, and Chip) had many hobbies and interests including Boy Scouts of Canada, at St. Boniface Church, where he started as a scout becoming a Queens Scout and then a Venturer and became a leader. Jim had many fond memories of camping and spaghetti dinners with the Venturers.
