Written by a Good Man. Well, what difference does it make? We don’t read books to make friends. And they say you should never meet your heroes as the likelihood of being disappointed is high. Still, sometimes you like to think they’re good people. And often they are. One of the best prefaces I ever read in a novel was about Rafael Sabatini (one of my favorites.) The book was. I forgot who wrote the tribute, but it said, Here is a story about a good man written by a good man. Force Ten from Navarone.
