West London Waste Authority (WLWA) committed to diverting virtually all its waste from landfill back in 2013. Instead the waste will go to an Energy from waste plant in the West of England. It recently released an update. This will be an even more dramatic change across the whole of waste management in West London, than the introduction of Alternate Weekly Collections.

I suspect that is precisely what Nicola Sturgeon wants. Her more minor reason for the move is to sideline the Green Party in Scotland, something that the English Greens seem all too eager to help the SNP with. My first impression was - what a great idea, but why on a Thursday? Looks like all the key characters and shops are taking part, and being promoted by our friends at Rise Guide. New news is that the guy who owns the lovely cooked meat stall in the farmer's market has acquired the Diner and that the guys from the Salusbury are opening an Italian restaurant in Lonsdale Rd. The video shop in QP is to be an optician. There's a big review of Parlour. Also I see Nando's is open. It certainly looks quite nice from the outside. Also I think Winkworth's. Saturday, 31 August 2013. I came across this great article about our very own Barber Shop in Kensal Rise. This guy travels from South East London to get his hair cut on the Rise - that's dedication. It's my favoured hair cut destination - and a great source of banter. Last time I was there a customer shared his 25year old Rum, mixed with Ginger Beer - certainly woke me up on a Saturday afternoon. Recommended to all, young and old. Saturday, 10 May 2014. Just been to the opening of Borough Wines in the old fireplace shop. A range of London microbrewery produce, good selection of wine at a a variety of prices and a bottle refill scheme. Talked to the manager, intention is to run wine tastings and foody sessions - yum! The corner off licence on Chamberlayne / Clifford gardens is rising from the ashes (again) with a new red shop frontage - they needed a new window since a car crashed into it years ago (2012 ish I think?
