Just another WordPress.com site. We then had lunch at a wonderful restaurant, where we had pita with a variety of hummus, tuna, and chili-type dishes. There were also delicious oranges. It was an excellent meal. The next stage of our journey was in the gray desert, where we stopped to examine and climb some chalk outcroppings. They were full of seashells. Just another WordPress.com site. A City of Garbage? Monastery nearly self-sufficient. Our guide was a charming monk, who sang a prayer in the Coptic language for us. Apparently they sing for two hours every morning, so he was well practiced. The Coptic language is not spoken anymore, it is only a language for prayer now.
